Hi evryone!
I'm new here and I wanted to show some of my horses I pained.

Ofcourse I have to introduce myself, I am a girl who lives in Belgium and I really like schleich, I've been collecting them for about 2 years and repainting them for a year now. I have about 80 horses now , and made about 52 repainted ones.
Painting them is one of my hobbys and sometimes I sell them too.
The models I like to repaint the most are the icelandics , because I work with them in real life and I hope to own one by myself soon Very Happy
Enjoy!

Let's start with the icelandics sunny most of them are based on horses I work with in real life.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I also like to make some pictures from them being ridden: ( I did not made the track!)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Now some other horse breeds:

Seabiscuit! Smile [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I've made many more horses, but I don't think I can post that many pictures clown
I'd really like to get tips so I can become a better painter!
Greets, Hanne.
(My English is not that good yet, but I'm doing my best)

What medium do you use for resculpts?

When I want to do a little resculpt (like bowing the head a little or so)I use hot water or fire to bow it and then cool it by putting it in the freezer.
For a bigger resculpt (like the position of the legs) I cut the leg in parts, make a hole in it and put a wire in it. Then clay over it to make it smooth and done! Hope it helped, I find it kinda hard to expain haha Very Happy

Here a example of using hot water or fire: (leg and head)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
And this one I made with cutting (It was the shetland stallion so I made him trotting)

Very interesting, thank you! Is there a certain type of clay you prefer?

Yeah, I use DAS clay, but the white version, you have also a brown version, that one is good too, but the white one is easyer to handle. I don't know if you can buy DAS clay where you live?

Thank you! Yes, both versions of DAS are in the US. I personally use something called Creative Paper Clay (not to be confused with home made paper clay), which I've read is less gritty and smells better than DAS. Very Happy
