| Something seems to be a bit off in their legs, but otherwise they are beautiful! You can easily say they are Morgans :) _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |

| When I opened this topic I thought immediately on old CollectA Arabians! Yes, I even tried to check if it was a revamped version from these old, textureless and unexpressive horses. Of course it is not and much more I watch pictures, more convinced I am that what I am seeing is a real horse, weird feeling, isn't it? Well, the pose and some proportions of old Arabian is somewhat similar but this Morgan has a subtile expression and it is much more detailed. | Here are some photos of the real model It is said to be the Bay version. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]With 2010 Friesian. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]With 2011 Arabian. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]He is of the nice hard material and he seems more glossy in paintwork than older CollectA horses. _________________ ~ Portfolio & Online Comic ~

| Great pictures and congratulations! Morgans are probably not the most beautiful horses of the world but I think CollectA performed an excelent work with that figure, it really looks like a replica of a horse and not just a toy trying to depict a horse. Proportions look excelent and the characteristics of the breed are recognizable. :) Maybe texture and glossy painting are the less atractive parts of that figure but for a relatively lightbuilt horse, it is a good news to know that CollectA decided to use a harder plastic. I like it! |

Many wouldn't agree with you Morgans are beautiful breed, especially those from foundation (most pure) lines. Maybe they are not as elegant as e.g. Arabians (which lately tend to look like their own caricatures, but that another topic), but they still have a unique look :) Just a few examples: stallion Bluebird Eclipse [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]mare After Dark Scarlet Lace [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]stallion Gab Creek Golden Vaquero [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Morgan ladies [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]The model itself is pretty but is too leggy and generally too "long" and lean - Morgans are more compact conformation-wise. _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |

| Magda I love the photos - especially the three ladies The new CollectA he could maybe be a Morgan/Arabian mix? I would love to see the Arabians you think of being charicatures of the breed They sound interesting. _________________ ~ Portfolio & Online Comic ~

There is a registry for such crossbreeds, they're called Morabs :) They're more refined than Morgans but I don't think they're that leggy. I meant mainly Egyptian Arabians - especially their very dishy faces which wouldn't allow them to survive in their "natural habitat" (Arabian desert). E.g. Pianissima, the most entitled Arabian horse in the world. She's considered beautiful by many, I think her head is just ugly [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Her half-brother (by the same sire, Gazal Al Shaqab), Marwan al Shaqab is not much better: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]or this stallion, Royal Colours - he's beautiful (dark bay rabicano ), except for his head... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]THIS is what I consider a beautiful, typey (you can easily recognize the breed), yet not exaggerated Arabian :) stallion SG Just Djude[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]stallion SG Spirit of Essteem[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]mare Lumiar Bint Balzac[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]or this guy, stallion Ka Noon Rej - maybe he's not the most beautiful halter Arabian but he's definitely a great example of an Arabian horse that can easily work under saddle: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]_________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |

| Magda, Morgan horses are beautiful horses as all horses are, just a personal opinion that they're not the most beautiful breed but beautiful anyway. Your excelent examples show it clearly. Thanks once more for your imput about Morgan and Arabians too. Carola, probably your favorite lady is the middle one. |

| Thank you Magda, these are some very interesting photos and I like very much to read your thoughts. Indeed Pianissima is very defined, and extreme looking. They remind me somehow of Seahorses. Now I also know of Morabs Regarding Deborah's sculpts, I think her models have often a bit too long legs, or maybe it is too short body(the Fjord which Roger mentioned having too short body, which I will have to agree on). Yes, Roger, Lady in the Middle Thank you Jonas _________________ ~ Portfolio & Online Comic ~
