The new 2013 Great Dane from Papo :-) 54030

Great Dane, Grand Danois, German Mastiff, Deutsche Dogge, - they have many names  

Thanks to Yvette, at last I am the happy owner of one of these gorgeous gigants  

The farmer from Papo feeds my Papo-dogs. I think he will have quite a job, when feeding this guy

They have been a bit lavish with the pink colour in the paint of the skin

Perhaps the designer is more used to making horse models

Papo went a little bit overboard with the paint on the head/face I think.
Like with make-up, sometimes less is more.

Yes, a bit like make-up, and like make-up, it looks worse when you get a close-up.  
Looking at he model standing on my desk, it looks fine, I think.
I suspect they had a special dog in mind when they decided the pattern.

He's handsome! A must have, Congrats!

Congrats! He's kinda odd (feet, paint), but he's also on his way to my place!  

He looks magnificent to me (paintjob ignored, perhaps)! His face is especially appealing, and I'm glad Papo didn't go for extremes of angulation, amounts of skin etc., and that he is unamputated. His boxy, high-knuckled feet, while strange, aren't perhaps unrealistic per se:

I don't think the paintjob is bad. I am sure they had a specific dog as model .
Loking at the front legs, perhaps the model was a very young dog.
The joints above the paws are enlarged, a typical sign of the bones stil growing very fast  

He looks great and I will have to get him!!!
