Thanks once more Yvett! I don't like the huge size of the koala but I just adore that the gaur is large. It is the largest wild cattle of the world, a beast of 1 tone that can reach more than 2 metters to the shoulder, it is perfect!

For me, the Gaur is undisputable largest wild cattle in the world, but it  is similar to size with Wild Yak, shorter but higher and probably lighter than Wild Water Buffalo.  The leading autorithies, like Leslie and Groves expres opinion that biggest Wild Yaks are larger than biggest Gaurs. I've checked more than 20 trustfull sources about cattle weights and no one confirm legenderay 1.2 - 1.5 tons for Gaur, but many point that Wild Water Buffalo reach 1.2 tons.One is sure, the female Gaur is largest female wild cattle.  The forbidden Gaur hunting for many years is the reason why there is few records of wild Gaurs size in past 50 years.The south-east subspecies hubbacki is larger,but it also very rear. So, the question, about cattle size is still open
