CollectA 2014: WILDLIFE - Springbok (88684)

This is the first of the two antelopes to be produced in 2014. There was a third antelope but due to time pressure it was not produced in time and will hopefully come out next year.

It was time for a springbok in the end. Given all the gazelles coming out I dont know why this attractive gazelle was missed

Are the legs really that short? head looks huge compared to them. Or is it the perspective?

Because they're almost identical as the Fallow Deer's legs!

That said, to follow up on Philip's question about the legs being too short, it looks to me like the body is a little overly long and the neck a bit thick. Maybe I'm not correctly capturing what is odd about it, but there does seem to be something slightly off. I realize this is looking a gift horse in the mouth. This is a wonderful sculpt.

Among so many CollectA antelopes I thought it was strange not a gazelle. A very beautiful one and a perfect choice. I was expecting a Grant's but this one is even better.
I see clearly a more defensive sculpting than usual in CollectA. Legs are definitively short but it was impossible to make them long and enough delicate, also horns and tail are not as delicate as expected. I really understand, these animals are really hard of manufacturing, the head is also a little large but it is to be able of using horns like those.
Beautiful painting and CollectA can use always walking poses that I won't never find it boring.

Yes, I think the same, I hope only a bad picture, but might be a very bad picture to make the head so big and the legs too short. As Roger says probably manufacturing conditions about legs. I don't know anywhere why the head looks so big.

That is what I was thinking, but it could just be the photo. A great model non the less, and thankyou Collecta for finally making such a wanted figure! :)
