My new, old wicent
He is a composition model, made by DANOLIN in the middle of the last century, probably as a copy of the lineol  .

I think he is from Lineol, but the paintwork is not the same as This one

He is no doubt the ancestor of the one from Danolin, - it is clear that the material used by Danolin srunk during production

Yes, the Wisent look`s diferent like a paint job, from this one from Kiki,
but your is also great...I realy like him :)
Also I saw in Ebay , that many Lineol Wisent models are with diferent paintjob ..
it is also possible, that somebody try to repaint him...but I don`t know...
it is almost in perfect condition

Your Lineol wisent is in perfect shape and it is the king of wisent toys for me Mine has a different painting and some I saw had light brown colors but I guess yours is not a repaint

Your "Elastolin water buffalo" is nice too but it is a Tipple-Topple Cape buffalo

More I watch him, more I think also, that it is not repainted... the paint job look`s like original..and not new.. :)
Now, I have also this model from Attis ...but it look`s diferent, becouse of the texture-it is not so visible
Soon I`ll show him :))

I got the info HERE , but perhaps a "Wasserbüffel" is Cape buffalo in German ?

I found a picture of a wicent similar to mine HERE and one with different mould.
It mentions that there is one ( more ?) with a older painting. So perhaps mine is from 1950, others are older ?

Susanne, it seems the wisents are both Lineol but as you poinnnted, they're from different generations. 3rd and 4th look almost the same with different painting. The buffalo is absolutly wonderful but these horns don't work well for a Asian buffalo but also not for an African buffalo. Though, I am almost sure it is an African buffalo. Wasserbuffel is water buffalo that is the name of the Asian species but there is always a big confusion between them. Remember for how long the old Schleich cape buffalo was presented as an Asian water buffalo.
Tipple Topple and Elastolin shared the same moulds, I guess. So it is hard sometimes to identify them, however, yours look a lot like the Elastolin you're linking. These compositions are as much confuse as they are wonderful!

The Figurenmuseum info is wrong Susanne, Hausser never made this model, it is a Tipple-Topple "Kaffernbuffel", you can see it on [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]  and you will never find this one in an Elastolin catalogue.

Hausser bought Pfeiffer but Tipple-Topple and Elastolin had different catalogues and used different molds most of the time.

And in TAI Tipple-Topple is found under Pfeiffer
I think I would have to spend years just to find out what is what

About the species, Roger is right, it looks more like the Murrah Buffalo dairy buffalo

There's no better source than a catalogue, no better website then the one you're linking and your knowledge is priceless.

Hey guys, I deside to show my new -old model of Lineol wisent, a present form Attis :)
We can see the difference between him and the model from Susanne....
Like shape it look`s the same....but mine has different texture- not so visible.. and also different paint job. It has a mark on his belly..like some Lineols - this rectangle. I can`t read what is inside, but on my Lineol dromedary camel , it`s written maybe``Germans``....?
So, this is it :

It probably says GERMANY on the mark, - I think it is typical for Lineol
