My little new friesian from breyer and my big Friesian statue.....[ not really a toy figure but this big one was the start of me going collecting...

My uncle paid me a visit recently and "since I like horses, don't I" brought with him a horrible reason for me to amend my previous smallest & largest pairing posted on page 4... Don't ask me, I won't know:


It's a hollow, hard-plastic ..horse. No brand. No idea. 34cm tall. I know appaloosas of the past were famed to be ugly, but this... Atop it is the smallest figure I have, a single-centimeter Britains copy pig. Schleich Angus shows scale. (A regular 1:9 Breyer horse, for another comparison, reaches it just over mid-thigh.)

What the hell is that horse? Who made it? Why? What am I supposed to do with having it, now? What was anyone going to do with that horse in the first place? Use it as a murder weapon? A kid would have trouble lifting the bloody thing. I'm presuming it was originally brought here in the 70's or so from the USA as a gift to some Finnish kid by some flush salesman relative they had (Amerikan-serkku, "cousin-in-America" - people had them in those days.. They were a great source of expensive birthday presents to cause neighbourhood envy among kids around here, I hear). No way anyone would have ordered a toy horse by mail order from anywhere abroad in the past, then suffered the postage on that thing.. Maybe we'll never know. It's the world's ugliest mystery.

The horse looks a lot like those made from Blue Ribbon Ranch. Does it have any stamps or anything? Never seen it before.

No brand, as I say. No clues on its whatsoever. Blue Ribbons were sold in Finland up to the mid-90's, but were well smaller and had significantly better sculpting. This is more reminiscent of a Marx from Hell, somehow..

So i dind';t post this before and i tought way not
So here are my biggest en smallest
(i really do believe a have smaller horses somwhere but i can not find them any more they are very small after all)

Those are my big grand champions stallion and the little falabella foal from schleich.
The big one make move his legs and head an make 3 different sounds
The little one is whearing a blanked i have made myself ^^

Karin gave me two tiny, little mice, and now they found a friend who will protect them from all the cats round here

Your little white horse is made by Matchbox and was a load for a horse box.
