I don't know why they did it??! Many people before buying a figure the first thing they do is looking at the eyes of the figure, I'm sure that the red eyes of that cheetah is not helping selling what is a fantastic sculpting!

Exactly, I have a problem with buying animal in a shop when it's only lightly cross-eyed, not to speak about bloody eyes with no iris at all. Another issue is the bite - the most natural and most effective teeth bite is scissor bite, overbite and underbite aren't good for wild animal whose life depends on good grip over prey's throat.

Nevertheless, I don't like it, they should at least use for eyes the same color they used for cheetah's fur and just add two black spots...

I agree again, with the same range of coulors, and probabily a glossy touch and it would be better! I don't beleive Papo will make a new cheetah since they already have 3 references for cheetahs! But they can change the painting as they did with many figures, f.e. the spotted hyena.
Papo only has to read 16 pages of your topic!

Congratulations Robert - it's still a fantastic figure
the quality of the painting isn't as great as when they first released this model - it's the same with the Papo tiger.

Actually the tiger is fine, it's the tigress with cub which isn't as nicely painted as the tiger.

I think it still a fantastic figure despite with red-eyes. For the tigeress with cub paint job is not better than the tiger that I have to agreed!

I never noticed the red eyes before, so it is not bad .

Funny, I also never noticed that the lower jaw is glued on
Papo must have used an awful lot of glue some years ago, antlers, horn, ears, legs, - so many things are glued on

Hmm... nobody noticed that the facial stripes on the cheetah's face are brown, instead of black? What's going on with Papo??

Now that you mentioned it, it is brown

Even the spots are Brown

Blind red eyes, spots and facial stripes brown

Maybe I will burn my PAPO cheetah now



Maybe it is still the best cheetah among the majors

The others have yellow eyes, black stripes and spots... But they are not as wonderful as this one

I think, there are hardly any perfect models(maybe an idea for a new tread), so there will be always some flaws in models.
But that is in the eye of the beholder as they say...
Anyway, you can buy the models you like, and i see the minors in some models, but the overall personal opinion of the model, that is important for any collector...

Sorry, but those long discussions about what is wrong with a new model, this goes tooooo far for me...lost energy, as it is not changable anymore anyway, they won't change it anymore afterwards so quickly...

One thinks the furr isn't good, the other one thinks the head is to small or to big and so on...
I think, most of us do know the most common species very well, from sight, pictures, movies and so on, and we all know what is wrong.
Here we are collectors of models, and we buy it because we like the model, or if it fits on our shelfs with same scaled animals, or just because we like the animal, or because we want it!
For me personally, these discussions lead to nothing, but of course we can say what we as animal lovers what is wrong with a model, but please, don't make the discussions toooo loooong...
Eye colour?
It is just a tiny model of the real thing, and it is a toy, don't forget that!

We went to see my parents yesterday and I saw my mother found few animals on the market... Unfortunately, the elephant is double but my mother didn't know that. Few McDonald's animals (which I don't need), few Schleich's and White rhino baby from Safari Ltd. I really don't know how did she found it, since we never had Safari in our stores

The Papo black rhino is the father of the Papo white rhino calf, so he will not notice any difference.
