| Deborah McDermott offers on her website a resin version of what she claims is one of moulds sculpted by her for Collecta. But it's not one of 2014 models. Could it be a model for 2015? Does anyone know anything about it? I really hope Collecta will release this mould eventually, it's simply stunning! | That is very interesting! Almost surely a 2015 release. Tried to check the breed in the link you provided but I haven't found it. Can it be a Belgian? Well, I find it also a beautiful figure whatever it is. |

| Deborah McDermott offers resin copies of most (all?) of her crafted horses. Does she do this before or after CollectA produces them? I don't have a clue, but maybe that's an indication?
And I don't know anything about this beautiful draft horse, but CollectA better make it happen. Because I want it. AND I WANT IT NOW! |

Looks a lot like an American type of Belgian or Percheron to me. More leggy and a bit lighter than their European counterparts :) - Bloodrayne wrote:

Does she do this before or after CollectA produces them? So far she offered a resin version of one of moulds from each year: 2010 - Hanoverian stallion 2011 - Tennessee Walker stallion 2012 - Shire mare In 2013 none of the new moulds was released as an Artist Resin. This year she released this draught mare, as well as Missouri Fox Trotter mare - but the latter is a confirmed Collecta mould. And she announced these after the announcement of new models by Collecta. That's why I'm a bit confused. _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |

| I would hope it was a percheron but it isn't quite muscular enough to be one. Regardless its a wonderful model. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. It's a mare, usually they aren't as muscular as stallions Also, many modern American Percherons aren't as heavy and muscular as European ones. Plus, they're usually black, unlike European ones which are usually grey Modern American vs. European/French [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]It's similar with Belgian Draughts. _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |

I think this mould could be great as a Sugarbush Draught - quite young (established in 1950s) but very rare American breed. Here's the last living purebred Sugarbush stallion, Sugarbush Harley's Classic O [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And some Sugarbush mares: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]The breed was originally only appaloosa, but it's so rare now that the registry allows crossbreeding with other breeds - but it's very controlled and horses of other breeds are carefully chosen so that the type of Sugarbush Draught won't be lost. | It looks lovely, but I expect it suffers from a pear shaped body still. She sculpts the girth area way too narrow. _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

Even if it comes out as a Percheron or Beldian, I'll most probably repaint it into a Sugarbush Thanks for links and pictures, I had no idea about that breed. It fits nicely but it would surprise me a lot if CollectA's choice was that breed. They don't have Percherons or Belgians in their range and those are very popular breeds of draught horses. I confess I was expecting a Shire stallion to 2015 with huge expectations. It is not impossible once CollectA always releases a lot of horse figures. But, if they decide to bring something new to the world of draught horse figures, it will be excelent! :) |
