Evolution of Man set 2014 Safariology

Looking very much forward to this set, I was a little disapointed, when I saw them in real.
The sculpturing is fine, but they are made of a soft, very bendable plastic, and most of them have a problem standing without help, and the paintwork is a bit sloppy.  
They remind me more of Toob-models than the beautyful models from the other Safariology-sets.
I wished Safari had spent a few cents more on a more stable material......now, take a look  

However, looking closer, I can now see the charm, and the talent of the designer

Australopithecus Afarensis. They lived in eastern Africa between 3,0 and 2,9 million years ago :

Congrats! Yes the paint job is a bit sloppy, but that seems to by Safari's way sometimes. I do like all their charm though.

I like this figurines, because i think they are very interesting and special:)

 

What a ridiculous paint job! I think you should contact Safari and tell them what you have bought here.

That is clearly a line of figures made to schools. Doesn't surprise me the toyish style of them. Not very good for collectors of prehistoric figures or those that want to use them in dioramas but more than good to their educational purpose.
Of course it was much better than they were better manufactured and had a more realistic touch but I find the design very appealing to young people, they're very expressive and I can see Demis Roussos among them.

For me this set is a big disappointment, Safari Ltd was able in the past to make more interresting models. I don't like seeing such a great company going down the steps   .

they look like replicas of the 60s!!!

       

 

 

A very interesting set, but definitely disappointing from a collector's standpoint. Congratulations nonetheless!

In addition to the paint job, also looks like Homo Erectus was a two piece figure and they didn't line up the two pieces very well

The Bullyland ones was better.
