I hope that they can save some areas where they live and protect that areas, so other (water) animals are benefit the protection.

I really hope they can be saved. There are zoos/aquariums that have captive Irrawaddy dolphins, but I'm not sure if there are enough breeding pairs that can help the wild population. Even if there were, I don't think they would be able to breed fast enough.
