| Lan, that's a real rarity and one of those we know there is a lot of people searching for it. It is also a beautiful piece, unfortunately there were no wolves in that series. |

| I've just been through my herd's details and tracked down the rarest runs of all. Ignoring the one-of-a-kind Julip horses, otherwise I'd be here all day I do have quite a few Breyerfest models which exist in the low thousands (including the coveted original Alborozo), some limited editions which run to the low hundreds, and a few more Peter Stones in only double figures, but decided to be really strict, and show only the rarest. So here are the models from the runs of thirty or less! | The 9-made was actually just a chance find brand new from the Peter Stone website - for some reason he was a really good reduced price, so I bought him before anyone else did! This was back in the early to mid 2000s when the Dollar-to-Pound exchange rate was great, so we got more for our money over here, and he ended up costing not much more than a regular run Breyer of the same size would be now. A couple of the others were direct from the Stone online shop, too, always on deal prices which made them affordable compared to regular runs. I stopped buying from the US when the exchange rate died and customs fees went crazy (around £20 for every single parcel, rather than the risk of about £12 for maybe one in ten of them and the rest escaping with nothing to pay!) There can't be any one rarest Breyer, because they make one-of-a-kind models for auctions and prizes, so there's an awful lot out there with a run of one, and nothing can beat that |

Amazing that you found these beauties while you could, they're so special! |

| Those are some really impressive numbers there [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - are they all Stone? I don't recognize the molds, but that doesn't mean anything these days. Really beautiful models on top of being so incredibly rare! Impressive to have so many of such limited runs! Also wow, Alborozo. I didn't know he existed until I saw one sell for $900 and I was like . . . excuse? Me? What a neat thing to have in your collection, and what a crazy drama within the hobby. This whole thread is interesting. Always neat to see what the rarities are in a hobby! |

| Yes, they're all Peter Stone models. The moulds are, from the top - Trotting Drafter, Pony, Pebbles Arabian (she's smaller than the others, falling about halfway between Classic and Little Bits scale), Weanling, and Standing Drafter :) The money Alborozos go for does amuse me, I mean he's nice, but THAT nice? I suppose it's mostly the collectability and rarity which makes him so desirable - people want one so they've got one, rather than reasoning that they could get a whole lot of other models for the same price I got mine cos a friend who moved to Kentucky went to Breyerfest with her husband, who doesn't collect, so she had a spare Alborozo and we did a swap - I bought a Julip at their yearly live show over here, and posted him to her. So he cost me about £45, and it's weird to think he's worth twenty times that now |

| Yes it is an odd weird echidna. It was produced in 1980, it is rare because the Starlux production and sales dropped in the 80’s |

| Thank you for the extra information, Christophe! It's a funny design, I was wondering why they didn't sculpt any spikes. But maybe there weren't enough good photographs of this animal available for the sculptors at that time. _________________ Anna Horse and Bird studio - Horse sculptures My model horse collection
