| So, I wanted to have a hucul horse in my collection, and I have thought that the old Schleich Icelandic would be good for such custom. I have lengthened its body and resculpted its butt, and painted it like one of the horses that I love to ride on. Since I don't know f I will be able to participate in horse riding lessons in the near future, I have decided to make a small memento of my beloved Wektra. Enjoy! | Wow, mini Wektra is wonderful The paintwork is really nicely done, I love that elbow spot Also, the resculpt part is very neat too! It fits very well and the change from clay to mold is not noticeable (to me). Really great _________________ [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Anne-Joke [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ajs.artistry - Instagram AJs Artistry Shop - Etsy |

| The horse is lovely, I love those roaned patches, and blue eyes - marvellous!
BUT!
You've made one primar, silly mistake while choosing the new breed - the Hucul, unlike the Icelandic, is NOT a gaited breed. There's no way a Hucul would move like that... _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |

| For me it was wonderful as it was before and now it keeps being wonderful. Maybe the pose is better but I don't understand anything of gaits. |

| It is a stunning repaint, WONDERFUL She still goes tölt, - no way you can change that Now it more "pleasure-rider-tölt" without the desired lift in front, but notice the lateral movement . Pace and tölt, rack and running walk are lateral movements (The legs at the same side move forward). You can see here [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| Agata, I think it;s beautiful work, whether gait is accurate for the breed or not I think it is a great idea to make portrait of your favourite pony in form of such lovely figurine. Also I think it's one of the nicest Schleich sculpts, much better than many new ponies of this brand! And your paint work is really fantastic on this one!!!! About the gait, I think Susanne is our expert about the tolt indeed! I remember even more detailed analyse by Susanne about the Iceys toy figures and their tolt quality! I really loved to read that!!! However, I think in one phase of canter the legs are in a bit similar position (also lateral). Well, maybe some angles are a bit different then. And of course next phase of canter would be much different than next phase of tolt but the figure represents the frozen moment of time, so we can't tell what the next step is. So please look at that photo, it's a bit similar to your figure in my opinion and it's clearly a phase of canter (surely the front leg is not lifted that high but anyway) So basically, if you would like to change the tolt into something different than maybe change some details, some angles and you can get something like that then? I don't think it is necessary though. I do think your model is very beautiful whatever gait it uses! | Oh, thank you girls for the explanation, now I get it God, why does it have to be so complicated? I thought all horses move likewise, haha But well, somebody has to be very observant to notice the difference I don't want to touch it anymore because any changes would be visible, though I guess it will annoy me a little bit from now on knowing that the movement should be different... lol. By the way, poor horse on the photo |

Noo, you don't have any reason to be annoyed, it is beautiful work! No worries about the gaits, it's just for the info, take it easy _________________ Anna Horse and Bird studio - Horse sculptures My model horse collection
