| Considering the low prices of these figures, I have to say they are brilliant and full of drama. I agree about the penguin, it looks excelent, very expressive and with good shape. Though, I am not sure it is an emperor, the yellow chest and the back of emperors are usually deep black and this one looks grizzled. A group of emperor penguins [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]A king penguin [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Also king penguins have proportionally longer beaks and this one looks to have a very long beak indeed. Chicks are also excelent, I love their interaction, what is thinking the one without food? ;D Chicks are clearly emperors. If I am correct about the adulte, it remembers when the Schleich king penguin adopted the emperor chicks some years ago. I love also the Adèlie penguin that shows how interesting are species choices of these sets, we can say it has a huge eyering or a long bill, but it is lovely and they haven't forgot the tuft of feathers on the top of the beak. Isn't the sea lion the one Christophe presented some time ago? Almost earless? Birds, fish, everything is just great. Actually many of them will enter my wish list! Thanks for excelent pictures and sorry for long comment. |

| Thankyou, dear Paige Thankyou for your constructive and interesting comments, Croger ! You are right, - again a king has got emperor offspring Or perhaps they are not even related , as they did not come in the same box Thankyou for the perfect photos for illustrating Luc, - yes, it is a shame they are not seen very often. |

| Congratulation Susanne for your newcomers and Hurray for Santa swinging Kosta Rogério, you are right, it is the sea lion and "weddell seal" I presented some times ago. The sea lion, as the sea elephant are "a bit" too skinny I guess but the pose and "facial" expression are very interesting. The weddel seal is indeed an earless sealion and at least is very far from the original The biggest disappointment on these sets was the Strap-toothed Whale. How a company can make such an unusual critter and miss it, the pose is so reptilian, like a mosasaur I know I'm playing the spoilsport but I would be so happy to see CollectA (for example) making one a more realistic one |

| I agree about the seal being far from the true thing and the big mistake with the whale pose. But as I commented, this set is very interesting with a good assortment of Antarctic species, cheap and with a brilliant scenic effect. Susanne, are all animals species marked? For example the emperor penguin? As you say, it is not from the same set, it doesn't need to be the same species as the chicks. That picture of the seal/sea lion is impressive! | You are wellcome, Roger At least here there is no doubt that the HKT-one is the Southern species, with the less long nose BTW, I just read that a Southern male can weigh up to 4 tons ! What a giant ! |

| Those are wonderful, and it's great they are an inexpensive line compared to so many that are getting too expensive for kids to buy. Some great unusual species there. _________________ Tim :) ToyAnimal.info - The Toy Animal Collecting Wiki Animoblog Animobil.info Playmobil Animals
