My next statue:
It`s made from bronze.
It`s big and heavy, over 9 kilos :)
it`s a reproduction of original bronze sculpture by
Antoine- Louis Barye (Paris, 1795-1875)
Great sculptor!
He has incredible sculptures of animals.
And he loved to show fight between animals.
So my statue is figting between lion and snake :

And not made by a Mr. Anybody : I just googeled Antoine- Louis Barye a little, and see that he is reperesented in lots of fine museums, - even the Louvre !!!

Indeed, copies like these were on grand ma's sideboard in France, near the flower vase

Mine is just a copie, made by somebody else...but is again a nice piece of art :)

As I said, when I was younger than today older people in France had that kind of copies on their sideboard or mantelpiece.

I want to show some models, made from lead (plumbum)
I have them from my childhood..they are some kind of vintage.
I was not shure , where to show them, so I`m gonna do it here.
(by the way, my photos form the previous statues are also gone )

They're beautiful

They seem very familiar to me. Many vintage brands released lead figures in that size, maybe an expert can identify them. Congratulations, they're wonderful!

In the 80`s , when I was a litlle child, in Bulgaria we had meny amusement parks, where was the only plase to get some toys. So, I have my toys from the children shooting. :)
These models are also from there.
All my old animal toys I have from there... and now I know that they are just cheap copies,
mostly of Britans :)

That's interesting once you are so young. I am older and in my childhood plastic toys were already the rule while lead figures were not present at all. Actually, it is even rare to find lead toys in antique shops, knights and soldiers are relatively common but animals are impossible.

Talking about lead figures...I have something very cool.
It`s not old, it`s actually new...
A very cool made it samurai figure from lead.
It`s so detailed and actually pretty small model.
It`s a Russian brand.
They make incredible models.
But they are quite expensive...Especially the painted one. They are veeery axpensive

Now, back to my model, it`s a samurai with raincoat armor, from XII century:
