| Maybe anyone find this helpful! These two exclusive or just special painted Trakehners come with the luxe-stable. The mare is black with some white markings and the foal is brown. Since I collect every horse, I needed to get these two also, but here are my thoughts about them, so you can decide if you want them (with the stable) or don't... About the mare. It's black, really, just black. It's not really, really dark brown or something, just pitch-black. It's kinda boring. She's just like the regular model, means she has got braids! Guess what about the color, yea, PINK. The markings and hooves at my model are really badly painted, it doesn't cover nicely at most places. Her head-marking is kinda weird? It's almost like a V-shape and I don't know why they did this, but it looks weird to me. The model feels awkward and soft. You can say it's almost the same material as the Shire stallion 2013. Rubbery, soft, awkward. One thing I like is the fact they didn't just paint the whole nose white, they added a small pink piece, so it looks more realistic. Right side mare [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Left side mare [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Markings mare [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]About the foal, I like the foal a lot more, it's cute and the color is nice. It's brown with some darker shadows. One thing I wonder is why all legs are black up high, except one, the hind leg, is there a reason they did this? The paint job is done way better and I'm in love with it. Also, this one doesn't feel that awkward. But it has no white markings. Left side foal [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Right side foal [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I hope anyone might find this useful, haven't found any clear pictures about the models yet on this forum, so here they are! ~D |

| This was helpful thank you! Such a shame that mare is like that! Yuck. Her marking are so badly painted and even if she was made of the same rubber as the Shire... Makes me mad. They destroyed her with bad painting. If there's anything to be saved...But the foal is better! The color reminds me about the camargue foal which is beautiful too. Thank yo for showing them. I've got exactly the same issue as you. I need all the schleich horses.. _________________ Jonas Animals are my friends. I don't eat my friends. | Thanks for the photos, Damon93. We are about to get this stable ourselves, just to add the two exclusive horses to our collection (and then sell the stable and accessories on, because we don't collect them). But seeing your comment on the mare leaves us not very keen on getting them! Such a pity that in recent years the paint is too often done so sloppy. The older models were painted much more realistic, for instance not just slapping on full white to do a marking, but thinning it on the edges like the white hair blending with the darker hair on real life animals does. And pitch black without any shadings to make it more realistic? That must have been done only to save production time, which is the wrong way to go for a brand like Schleich that got its popularity through the quality... |

| Thanks for the photos It looks like the blaze on the mare was supposed to be moved up more so it looks like the forelock is covering the top of it. Odd. I do really like the foal though. |

| I think this topic is very useful. This is a horse very expensive to obtain and topics like that help people taking a good decision. Please see my comment below as an exercise and not a criticism against your addtion. Let's forget it is a Schleich, let's think it is a Bullyland or any other less reputated brand. What I see is a not very interesting sculpting, actually "almost" ugly, a too simple and not very attractive painting, you're saying that it is made of the lighter and more rubbery material. How many of us would pay 7 Euros for that horse if it was a Bullyland? I am not criticizing your decision, in some of my collections, I collect what I don't like just because I am addicted from what I really like. So, I conclude that the very good horses of Schleich continue selling these newer poor friends, even the good design, excelent painting and high quality plastic are not present anymore. |

| I think this conclusion is perhaps somewhat too harsh, Roger. Schleich is just not so consistent any more in the quality of its models. That doesn't mean that there are no longer very nice ones, but it means with some models they took the wrong road. This happened in the earlier days, too. Some of the newer model horses don't stand properly, so that is the sculptor's fault. But a flaw like that should have been noticed and corrected and not produced and sent out to the stores. Big mistake in the current time. Some are not painted right, which especially seems to happen to some of the third-party exclusives and specials, although also too many regular models suffer from this. This is a shame, as they all carry the Schleich brand even though not enough emphasis has been laid on beautifying the paint coat, which makes or breaks a model. People who are not collectors won't know if a model is a third-party special or not, it's simply a Schleich to them. Very few models are made from different material, have a different feel. Perhaps these are trials? Schleich used to say that they make true-to-life models to teach children about nature. After the company was first sold, that seems to be not so important anymore and from that time on you see the most negative changes. Models seem to be sculpted with less research (or by less gifted sculptors?), and that shows here and there. On the other hand, some are truly better and more detailed than the earlier ones. Focus nowadays seems to be more on cute horsey stuff, which sells well with the young horse loving girls. The braids on so many horses are an example of that, and the way they look, not true-to-life horses but just sweet. The many horsey accessories, which look really great by the way, will surely add to the sales figures and that is a good thing. Naturally any company needs to make a big enough profit, or it will go bankrupt. But I hope Schleich won't loose its original goal to produce high-end, life-like toys and turn into a Disney-clone instead. I hope they will broaden their range of species instead of remaking the same breeds or species that have already been in the collection. Quality of material (it's a toy!), sculpting and painting needs to be top notch in order to maintain the popularity gained over the years. And prices need to stay affordable. Quite a challenge... |

| Okay, I'm not a huge horse person, but what is that on her face?! And those pink braids... I'm seeing little girls screaming to their parents to want this expensive stable for those horses... That foal on the other hand, it is in a very nice color, I even love those hooves ^^
But congrats on having them. In secret, if I was a little girl, I would like to have that stable. (With the tinkers... XD)

| O.o I don´t like that mare... What a bad paintjob, specially for a horse which is so expensive! I feel quite dissapointed with Schleich _________________ Visit my collection gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Visit my art gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I accept commissions! |

| Pink bows Great and very useful review Thank you for sharing. It is a shame with the mare. She looked very good from the promotional photos I think. The best of her has to be that they added pink to her muzzle. Not good to hear they seem to have used that soft Shire Stallion material... _________________ ~ Portfolio & Online Comic ~

They're always better in catalogue (except for Princess ) And the foal was much lighter, she was like the Bully trakki mare! We've been fooled _________________ Jonas Animals are my friends. I've heard they are really, really, really hard to get ... No Dutch online store has them in stock anymore. |
