Susanne, the new ones dissapointed me - zero shading, mum without a teeth and her face a little rubberish. Also the sculpture of the cub needs to be better: he was bent on the abdomen side and looks like a motionless wood, sadly. All in all, I got them because I love Schleich and bears! Wuld not recommend for those, who already have previos ones.

Here is a newcomer bought on the Web    
It seems to me that it is the schleich Bayala transformed with a salmon in his mouth

Clearly this salmon was originally a separate figure not intended for being in a bear's mouth. Otherwise they would have do hanging and not with a rigid body!

I may ask, what is the best brown bear from big brands? There are so many that I don't know which one would be the best for my collection...

How big/tall is the bear? The Schleich 70440 Torak bear is quite a lage figure.

This copy is walking the other way. I mean with its right paw up.
The Scheich has small light nails. These seem to be sticking out.

Many thanks Caracal, I entirely missed your reply! From your photos it looks indeed near perfect, with that ursine shape of the muzzle and lips, the accurate sharp claws and the dynamic walking pose. If some day I got a brown bear it will be this one. But for that maybe I need another house - currently no more animals can fit into my collection due to overcrowding!
