2015 Oceanian Wildlife from Major brands - updated 12/21/2014

Here is a place to post and discuss all the 2015 Oceanian Wildlife models from the Major manufacturers. New official Pics will be added on the first post when available.

Australia is not a very populated island, even when there are some visitors from New Zealand!
They're still few but 50% of them are in my wish list!

I'm curious to see the Safari Koala in person. I've always felt that the major companies haven't done a great job of representing the Koala. I think my current favorite is the Schleich, but it's hard to say whether the new Safari will be preferable.

I think of it this way. At some point, I'll get my son a Koala. Which one will I choose? The Mojo Fun? No, way too big. The Papo? No, weird-looking dude; looks like a religious statue. Either of the CollectAs? Nah, awkward poses and weird textures. The current Safari (with the baby on the back)? Not a bad figure, but doesn't have great definition. That leaves the two Schleich figures. The older one is not bad -- a little on the large side -- but it's not easy to find. When I buy my son figures, expense and ease of shopping are definitely factors. That leaves either the latest Schleich Koala -- which I like despite the fact that it's a kind of big, shapeless lump -- or the Safari 2015 model, which looks kind of promising.

Any koala fans out there who have strong opinions about the available koalas (by major companies)? including the upcoming Safari? I'd love to hear the views of others.

(I'm much more excited by the CollectA Kiwi though! Unlike Roger who clearly meant that the Safari Koala is on his wish list... )

Koala? I also was never able of finding a correct koala, I had the old Schleich and gave up, then I had one of the CollectA versions and gave to a kid locally, Mojö is too big even I'm a tolerant person, strangely I have the Papo koala that is not definitively a great figure. There's the S&N that I never tried and Safari's use to be very large. Well, once I've found in a local shop a Bullyland koala but it was larger than a bear. I also had the Nayab that I gave to my niece, I was forgeting it. I don't have a good suggestion to give you, maybe someone opens a discussion topic about koalas?

What about the Science and Nature koala? It's the same size as new schleich, it cost only half of the price of schleich and it's a very nice figure, in my opinion even nicer than Schleich    
It's available in MPV, but I don't know if that's an easy option for you   Or you have it already?

The new Safari one doesn't seem too good in terms of proportions, the paws and nose are very big and head quite small. But I like the walking pose I would prefer if it looked more like on this picture [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

It's a good idea Roger. I worry it would get no traffic but I would like to hear a discussion about koala figures.

Anna, I agree about the upcoming safari figure. If the sculpt looked like the picture you linked, that would be perfect! I found a high resolution version of the picture of the 2015 safari koala and it looks worse in that photo, especially the big nose. Sigh. It's too bad.

I do have the S&N koala. I like it but I don't adore it. I still feel like there's no koala figure out there that I want to get for my son. CollectA needs to make a new one that is at the level of quality we've seen in their recent figures. And I also like the mojo figure, but it's so big. My son would grow up thinking koalas are the size of grizzly bears.

In matter of Oceania, S&N is THE major brand

I like have different animals in my collection,therefore,

bandicoot, boobook are welcome.

Maps are wonderful but they give a lot of work. I think figures from major brands + S&N in this case are enough on map but we can add all news to the topic with the regular catalogue pictures. I think it is easier for you, enough illustrative and informative.

Maps are wonderful but they give a lot of work. I think figures from major brands + S&N in this case are enough on map but we can add all news to the topic with the regular catalogue pictures. I think it is easier for you, enough illustrative and informative.

Maps are important for me Rogério and I hope I'm not the only one    Nevertheless, Japanese regular catalogue pictures are really rare and most of the models are Japanese animals.

The funny thing is I only changed the titles, the process and maps are identical to 2013 or 2014 and it wasn't a problem then.

Maps are wonderful for me too and very useful. Actually I use a lot these topics, more than those revealing all news from a certain brand. I was only trying to save you from a lot of work once I believe is not easy to make them.
Supposing Ravensden, Battat, Maia & Borges or any other brands release some figures during 2015, I believe they deserve to be listed in these threads but they don't have necessarily to be introduced in these maps, unless you have time and patience to do that.

Actually, my biggest problem isnt the lack of time but the lack of new models
