So, what does everyone believe that schleich's westafilian will look like? I hope they do a jumping horse!

Alot of them have been released on facebook. The reaction of the people are quite odd, some love the beading and braiding, others wrote a rant about how bad all of their things are(yaho to the ones who spoke up!) but they actually like the uni's. To be honest I think it looks like Schleich partnered with Barbie for this one.

I kind of like the unicorns.
But the colours are a little to much.
Because of that, they indeed could have jumped out of a Barbie Movie.

I didn't buy anything Schleich released 2015, but I really like their new Oryx antelope, so I'm definitely looking forward to adding this to my collection 2016.

The Oryx isn't new-it was publidhed in 2002,these one is just the old model with a new painting.But it looks now a bit better than the old colour.

I commented on their page on the new releases. I'm still not too happy about the realism of most figures.

Toy industry changed a lot these last years because of video games and technologic toys. Now a 10 years old boy or girl is not interested in traditional toys anymore but in technology instead.
So, the target public to these companies is now in a very small range of ages, mostly very young children. Naturally, their design is more oriented to younger people and that is what happened with Schleich and toy industry in general these last years. This is not a criticism, just a fact. CollectA decided explore a way where realism is more important, their animal range is more and more oriented to collectors and there isn't an excessive toyish design in their horses, while Schleich, being a much bigger company with a bigger market, needed to rethink their range to keep good sales. I think it is unfortunate for the most part of us but we're lucky we have good alternatives these last years. :)
I want also to remember that Schleich was for sale recently and their main target was Mattel (owner of Barbie brand) that was not interested in acquiring the Schleich brand as nobody was for the requested price. :)
