[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ...I very like models by Kaiyodo (Japan). But I,ve saw them only in the web. It seems the conception of this brand is manufacture of some rare original species of birds, insects, fishes and small mammals... There is another brand of puzzle models - 4DMaster [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ...The main problems of this models are the seams (lines between the parts). But this seams is unnoticeable on insects, frogs, some reptiles (tortoises) and birds. Unfortunatly the lines between the parts are good visible on mammals models. ... So we can have a choice... Our mutual friend Christoph (Kikimalou) has many nice Kaiydo models! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]....and many, many others!

| Sorry sorry sorry. But i like my animals in one piece and i dont like this small lines on body and head/meck (like from a guillontine). The small lines are ok, if you dont see them (under and over the body - like colorata raptors legs and wings) in my collection. I know there are very good, but i have have this spleen.

| IMHO,the Dinotales series is the best, with no lines visible and the most accurate dino models on the market! |

| I like Kaiyodo a lot, despie the lines The biggest reason I like them (and any of the japanese brands) is that they do not only do "common" species, but other ones that are realy rare in the plastic animal range. (That is also part of the reason why I love safari ltd) |

| I too, dislike the puzzle-creatures, but I have to admit that they are easiest puzzles I have ever seen. Much, much simpler to solve than the Rubik's cube! It seems to me that the Kaiyodos need special care with storage, as they are very delicate and can be easily broken (I discovered this the hard way!)... It is, however, so true that they make figurines based on rare species not commonly found in the collecting arena. Perfect for Torben and Christophe! And Arrakai. I don't collect Japanese figurines, although I am half-Japanese, but I do have maybe 30 Colorata small mammals I purchased from Danny a long time ago, and they are simply fantastic. If I ever collect a line other than Scheich, it would have to be the Colorata line. Is anyone familiar with their massive Whale Shark (maybe a meter long, comes on a wooden stand)? |

Alas, I only know it on pics... And it looks so fabulous There was a gent in HK who was selling them on eBay.com a couple of years ago; the shipping cost to the USA was more than the purchase price. A really beautiful and majestic statue... :) |
