| The golden eagle is a large eagle that is found in large parts of North America, Eurasia, and in far northern Africa bordering the Mediterranean Sea. It has a 7 foot wingspan and preys on small to medium size animals. Juvenile golden eagles have white tails with a black band on the tips and adults have barred brown tails. The underside of this figure's tail looks like that of a juvenile while the upper side looks like that of adult. It also has white patches on the underside of the wings, a trait found in juvenile birds. | Nice walkaround again and it is great you pointed the colouration problem. This model is 18 years old now and it is not the best of the Safari Ltd birds but I guess it is the father of most of them I hope this company will provide us again with great birds. |

| Christophe is right, that's an early Safari release and surely not among their best but, it is already a classic among their range. It was originally introduced in Safari Woodland series, now North American Wildlife and it used the same mold as the old American bald eagle, so, if that feathering on legs is correct to this species, it is not to the bald eagle then. There are 5 stages of coloration, I guess, not easy to manage them in toy shape so I think using the last of them is the best option what hasn't happened here. Though, this is a quite chraming figure as [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] commented and a very long retired and rare Safari figure. A very interesting collectible. |

| Great walk around. If memory serves, this figure was first made by the French company Plastoy and later resold by Safari LTD (they used to carry quite a few plastoy figures, mostly fantasy ones). Despite the plumage error and catoony eyes and smile, this golden eagle is one of my favorite raptors in my collection |
