Papo Camargue stallion 5143 from 2015

I love Papo's horses, so as this is the only horse they launch this year, I had looked very much forward to see the guy in real

When he finally arrived , my first reaction was surprise

To the left is the picture in the catalogue, - and to the right is my new horse  
Perhaps he has turned all white during the long waiting time ?  

But he is beautyful

So elegant and fine ! And still he has the special papo-look

It is my delight to be able to make a walkaround here, but Photobucket is not co-operative this evening !
No matter what i do, it scrambles the pictures round...after having sorted them manually ump-teen times, and PB either freezes or mixes it all up, you will have to make do with a rather confusing walkaround

Here he is together with the Schleich Camargue Stallion .  It is hard to find two more different models of the same breed

I hope you didn't get seasick ?

In some of the pictures the mane seems almost purple. The mane and tail are painted , while the body is unpainted. ...
Perhaps the paint has a slightly blue'ish shade, and my camera politely insists to stress this fact, even if it does not look purple with the naked eye

How strange is that picture from the catalogue?
I can see a Camargue repaint in the near future, haha!

When I hear the name Camargue horse, I always picture these white (...grey ) horses running on the beach or through shallow water.
So I guess it makes sense that someone at the Papo office decided to go with the new coat.
It's a lovely figure. It has a nice flow to it.

After this wonderful merry-go-round I feel a little dizzy, but not at all seasick!

Congratulations! I astonished when I saw the pictures, but he is beautiful in white suit.

Yes, you are right, the white coat is actually much better and realistic

I just got an explanation, - Photobucket now writes that they are doning maintenance, so it was not only me and Camargus who had a problem

Social media strategy, use a picture as when you were younger and you'll get more friends.
Clearly that Camargue was much younger in that catalogue photo... I like that it greyed meanwhile. :)
The figure keeps good tradition of Papo making horses with personality. Who loves them won't be disappointed.
There weren't Camargues in their range so that was a good idea to Papo collection, I also think that this horse has a lot of potential to be reused in some of other series.
Visiting Camargue Horse page on TAI. I figured that it is one of the breeds only present in modern brands and curiously, both Schleich and Safari Ltd released their first versions in 1996/1997. There is also a somewhat similar concept when comparing this Camargue with Safari stallion. Though, it seems the most popular Camargue among collectors is the 2006 Schleich lovely mare.

It is a very nice Papo dancer and I think the pose fits well to such a free horse!

Susanne I think the purple glares are a pic's temperature colour  That's why you can't see them on the model, they are not real.

Susanne, thank you for very interesting walk around! i think it's good that Papo decided for more white version of grey colour, it looks better
Nice to see this Comargue, it has very nice movement and flow of the mane put additional accent on that. The style and anatomy are a bit cartoony but this is quite typical for Papo horses

Interesting, Starlux assigned some of their horses to a specific breed, that's interesting, surely French breeds, I know some Britains with horse breeds assigned but those are British horses obviously.

Long ago I resigned to the fact, that the promo-photos is something else, than the figurines in real life. But, in general, Susanne, beautiful horse! Congratulations!

You are so right !!!
That is one advantage by being so darned near-sighted as I am, - usually I do not see it before I take close-up photos
But THIS time I did see it

Really great walkaround Wheat a beautiful Papo horse. Love the movement and dramatic mane and tail. I like the final version better than the catalog one.

I was wondering, - now Papo shows the one with white mane/tail as "New colour". But has anybody ever seen him with black mane/tail ?

Does this also mean that a rare variant exists or is that just a promo photo where the final product was changed prior to mass distribution?

I have never seen the one with black mane/tail except in the 2015 catalogue

If I had the choice I would take the pure white Camargue! I agree with the others that Papo must have seen the real Camargue and decided to re-do the color. :)
