What should I create?

I just bought some clay at Walmart and I have no idea what to do. I was thinking maybe a cavy or solenodon. What do you think?

I want to start small and make my way up

A cavy might be a good place to start. Relatively easy shape and can give you a good feel for the clay and how to best use it.

Air dry? Polymer? Traditional?

Why not both ? They are both SO lovely

I wouldn't imagine that a cavy is easy, with the long legs and ears, - but then I am no expert

Well, I suppose it depends on what animal one means by cavy. I was thinking guinea pigs. But then again, I have a cold and not thinking very straight. So my apologies.

I think a cavy may be a Guinea pig or a mara that is also known as Patagonian cavy. I love maras and always wanted to see it made by one of the major brands. Though, with a solenodon in question I don't have any doubts in supporting this last suggestion!

:lol:Don't worry, you already have permission to post pictures. You can find here some topics explaining it although some of them are probably outdated.
Basically, you upload your pictures on Photobucket or something similar and copy the bbcode they provide to your post on forum.
No hurries, just keep posting normally and when you figure it out, just post once we love to see others works.
Feel also free to ask anything else whenever you want.

OMG it didn't work.

I have chosen the cavy. I just sculpted it 5 mins ago. I will make a mate for her and maybe a pair of solenodons!

I think I should have clarified, so apologies. The img tag can only be used with links to image files, those ending in .jpg, .gif, etc...

(I'm using the info about the above "not Koi" photo for illustration purposes only)

If you were trying to link to the album, photobucket should have a link for sharing.  If you try to use the one in the navigation bar, it is only for the owner's photostream thus it will default to the album of the person logged in.  (If using the album instead of a picture, you'd want to use the icon to the right of the img icon (it looks like a link or paperclip) and insert it as a link, for example, I'd use: https://s23.photobucket.com/user/Silveria_2/Zoo%20repictured/story if i wanted to share the whole album .)Wilorvise's Album

If you accidentally copied the direct link (e.g. https://2img.net/h/i23.photobucket.com/albums/b381/Silveria_2/Zoo%20repictured/KoiB_zpskg8ccskz.jpg~original) you can still use the Photo link.  and just paste that in there [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
