Interesting to see an Andrew looking more muscular !!! It was supposed to be enormously powerful, and here we see a powerful, dangerous predator ! Well done again, CollectA

I'm a real fan of the CollectA extinct mammals and this is another gem! And I understand the appeal/better selling point of animal figures with open mouths. But like with the Deluxe dinosaurs, I would like to have the choice to tell my Andrew: "Just open your mouth or shut that trap and listen to me!" It needs a movable jaw to be perfect.

Well, I always test my expectations when I read the tittle of the topic first. I appreciate generally most of CollectA prehistoric mammals and that's one the reasons why I am somewhat disappointed with what I can see in this release picture. Noticiably the sculptor is the same of the enthelodon and other prehistoric creatures, it is evident, the animal doesn't look confortable in its pose and there's no harmony in general. I know it is a even toed ungulate and that previous andrewsarchus releases are not top quality, I just was expecting better and I hope I am wrong and that I'll change my opinion as it happened drastically with the springbock not long ago.

| Well Here is a pic of the real Andrewsarchus [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]So I'm very happy the CollectA have an open mouth because we can see if it is accurate We don't know the real size and shape of this animal. For a long time it was supposed to be the biggest mammal predator ever because scientists thought it was a relative of Mesonyx, a wolf-like meat eating predator. Now it is believed to be an artiodactyl (even-toed angulate) and maybe a relative of hippos and whales ancestors and even it would stay a possible predator, it lost the title of "biggest ever". I can't tell about harmony, the head seems a bit small for me but itt is only a feeling. My favorite for now is the Safari Ltd one but this one could be a great competitor.

Thanks for posting this awesome looking figure! This is definitely one I'm interested in. The only issue is that his scale may be a bit large to fit in with the rest of my prehistoric mammal herd. Still, he's nice enough that I'd consider picking him up anyway. I'll have to wait until he's more widely available, though.
