PostSubject: Retired models?   Retired models? EmptySun Jan 03, 2016 12:56 am

Does anybody know which are the "new" retired models(from 2016)? I know only Schleich's retired list, but I don't know which CollectA, Papo, Safari Ltd., Bullyland mammals are retired from 2016. scratch
Thank You! Very Happy

We don't have official lists of CollectA figures to be descontinued. unfortunately it seems the only way is comparing catalogues. You have here the 2016 catalogue. Unfortunately the 2015 catalogue is not available anymore once it was replaced online by the newer one.
@Orcagirl, gently provided us the list of figures to be retired in 2014 that she obtained directly from CollectA and it ended with some mistakes, not because of her fault but because CollectA changed their plans. For example, zebras and hippos were supposed to be retired that year and replaced, they decided to make pygmy hippos and much later a grevi's zebra and these kept available on catalogue.
I actually would love to know also to update the information on Toy Animal Wiki, i believe old crocodile was retired in 2015 and the llama is being retired this year, though, we need info about all series and it is more or less from memory. scratch

Hopefully what goes online stays online forever. In other words, you can find archives of their page here  Very Happy : [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Just type the proper url and you can find archives from several dates. For example for sea life, as of march 2015:http://web.archive.org/web/20150211220306/http://www.collecta.biz/en/collections/sea-life
And you can compare them. In this case only the great white shark has been retired.

Vasilis, thanks for information. Do you have previous catalogues? Weren't leopard, crocodile and shark already unavailable in 2015 catalogue? ... and grizzly, I think it was retired even before. It is a pity that I don't have last catalogues to confirm.

Vasilis, sorry for asking again, which pages are these? Is it the page numbers where you can find these figures on 2015 catalogue and that are not available anymore in 2016 catalogue? It is a very precious information and we know it is workful to check it all, so I'd love to get it correctly to put on Toy Animal Wiki. Very Happy

Speaking of retired models. I apologize for making a third post about Hornbill and Toucan. But I'm on the hunt for it and I heavily regret not getting it.

Does anybody remember a Hornbill or Toucan, mostly Hornbill I think. It was a special collectA figure around 6 - 7 inches tall. Was available at the Singapore Jurong bird park. Priced at SGD$32 I believe. I told myself I'll get it later but never found it again Crying or Very sad .
First seen December 2016. Then checked again December 2017 and there was no sign of the figure.
If anybody was lucky to find it and have an extra, please sell it to me.

Thank you!  Very Happy  And million thanks for telling me about AAA toucan  Applause . I plan on getting it, it looks great!
Yes it was definitely a Hornbill. I believe it must've been a special figure made for Singapore Jurong Bird Park and Sg Zoo, I held it in my hands, Dec 2016. My brother asked me to get both pieces (there were 2), I was confident that I would find it later or online. Big mistake!
How do I get in touch with Ken Yeo? Can I directly message Ken?

I dont know that model. Ken is not often online here but you can send him a pm. And you can ask Numaan here too, he is a CollectA expert :)

Welcome on forum and thanks for bringing something so interesting. In this forum you can find some of the most avid collectors, some are even able of finding everything and I've never heard of it. So, I assume it was a little run only made to that bird park. Likely, it represents Sunny, the recent new icon of the park. Much probably an oriental pied hornbill. I hope you are lucky and that you can find it but I also hope that there is some hope to some of us. Laughing
