| These little cuties aren't shown very often. But they are actually very cute, and if you aren't too interested in scales fitting together, they make a nice variation on the shelves, IMHO Untill a couple of years they were hard to get, if you didn't want to buy +/- 200 pcs of the same model. But now many of them come in little bags with an assortment of 8 different models for app 5 Euros. I would like to present the so called "Arctic" set to you. Now, - the penguins are Antarctic, the orca and Humpback whales can be found many other places, moose do not live in Arctic climat, and Bald eagles only go that far north during summer, but...well I like it, when a product comes in a neat, little bag [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]But they are nicer when they come out ( if they don't vanish in the carpet [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]They are ABSOLUTELY not to scale [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Let's take a look. The tiny eagle is ever so beautyful, - I really like this one [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The moose is fantastic for such a tiny, mass produced model ! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]At the other end of the "neatness-range" comes the poor little humpback whale [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The orca is a little bit better [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The penguin is not bad [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The chick may need glasses ! What happened to his eyes ? But he looks quite content as it is, so don't tell him [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Lovely, little seal pup [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Fine, tiny polar bear [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Please note that in these photos they are many times larger than when you have them on your shelf . Normally you won't see most of the little flaws. I think they are lovely, - even the whale Should somebody wnat to show one or more of the other sets here, you are most welcome |

| I'm not the walk around guru, so I'll just illustrate average size. As shown with the Safari Ltd Flamingo from the birds toob and the playmobil flamingo. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] _________________ Laura

| I love these! They don't take up much space and are cheap too. I only have 4 though, the palomino horse, bay draft horse, pegasus, and pony. |

| Thankyou for the lovely picture, Laura ! Great comparison, thankyou No need for walkaround. This topic is just about those Safari minis - LeeAnn wrote:

| Thanks for showing these, Susanne. I really like the good luck minis. Regarding scale, I like how many of them work in relative scale to the toob-sized models, while some of those in turn work with standard sized models. The eagle in that pose, for example, is useful in all three of its sizes. I have a number of these now- if I have a chance to make some pictures I will add them here. It is too bad they aren't easier to find individually. I got mine from TGF Toys before the site closed. It looks like MiniZoo has individuals available so that's good. That seal pup is new to me- look at its little hind feet! _________________ - Andy

| Zoo gift shops sometimes have them. Not sure, but I'd suspect some toy shops might have them too. _________________ Laura

| I think I have seen some of them in a bookshop where you could buy them individually. I do not know if it is possbible in other contries as well, but it might be worth a try? |

| I have all but the most recent ones. I used to get them at a now closed online shop so will have to find a new place for them. I think Safari sells them directly in the US, and will look there I guess. I really like the minis from all brands that have made them. It forces the company to really find the essence of the animal shape since they have to make it so very small. _________________ Tim :) ToyAnimal.info - The Toy Animal Collecting Wiki Animoblog Animobil.info Playmobil Animals
