My very first Britains!

I got my very first Britains today! I don't know anything about them, so any input would be appreciated!

That's fantastic! Sometimes, it is not easy for someone used with major brands to appreciate these Britains figures due to their small size. Though, you've got some of the largest and better ones. I love Britains and the sculpts of these two figures are better than the counterparts from major brands. Both you got are two gens from 1961, the Asian elephant #1311 and the Asian rhinoceros #1314. Both already discontinued, of course. There's something very special in Britains world that we don't see in major brands, figures are made in scale, so they give a good impression of the proportions between real animals. If you compare your elephant with your rhino, you'll have a good idea how they compare in real life. They are made to fit human figures of 54 mm representing an average sized person. Congrats! although i have a very extended Britains collection, i still miss this old Asian elephant...

Unfortunately, Anne there have not been any more Britains zoo/wildlife figures since they last appeared in a catalogue dated 1998.

However, they are widely available on the pre-owned market as loads were made between 1960 and 1998.

Maybe with the recent takeover by Tomy there will new additions.
