| Perhaps the small dingo from S & N will fit to the old Schleich wolves ? These two have the same "thing" for comparison... The wolf : [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]The dingo [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]A grey wolf os 80 - 85 cn over the shoulder, a dingo 50 - 60 cm... |

| The small Dingo from S&N is really, really tiny and not in scale with Schleich or other brands, I think. I ordered it once and threw it in the trash a few weeks later because I hated it that much. So, no pictures from me. But click on the link and scroll down a bit. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I don't know any other toy company that ever made a Dingo. |

I don't know any other toy company that ever made a Dingo. You threw it in the whaaaat?! That same question I'm asking too. Dingos are a lovely addition to every Australian animal line IMHO So why not? _________________ ~Karin~

| I can try to find where my small S&N dingo went off to and can compare with at least a Schleich wolf - if you wish. But that won't be for several hours. (They're both in the room with the sleeping children. Sleep = GOOD). I can see how the little dingo could be frustrating. It is hard to explain. I would have to be looking at it to try. _________________ Laura

| We surely don't want you to wake the children [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Actually it is just perfect If we take a large wolf and a large dingo, they are 85 : 55 cm = 1,4 : 1 I measured the two above, and they are 4,5 : 3,2 cm = 1.4 : 1 also The dingo from Safari's "Down under" toob could also be ok. It is 3 cm tall, so it could be a small female ( +/- 53 cm )

| Wow impressive! They're beautiful!
I have a no name Chinamal dingo, but I don't have a big brand wolf to compare it to. I do have a Safari wolf pup and a Schleich Australian Shepherd female. |

Please bear in mind that Schleich animals have enormous heads Look at the length of the legs in the last picture. I am surprised too, that dingos are so much smaller than wolves, but I just use the measures from Wikipeia PS : It seems that many of the present day "dingos" are really hybrids with domestic dogs, and may be bigger (or smaller?) than real dingos |

....and apparently S&N dingos have humongous feet which make their heads look really small. I agree that both figures could be in the right scale when put next to each other, just looking at the length of the legs. It's just that, to me, the body proportions of the Dingo are way off. They make it look grotesque. And it bothers me more than Schleich's bigheaded wolf. |

| Using some National Geographic diagrams, we can see how large is a dingo when compared with a grey wolf and a non average 2 metters tall man. Dingo is the small one, of course. So, it is not so distant from Susanne's suggestion. Though, we have always lots of problems to get scales correctly. First, because animals can be found in a wide range of sizes. So, a large dingo can be almost as large as a small wolf while a small dingo is ridiculously small when compared with a large wolf. Then, we are very used to the illusive scale of major brands where differences of sizes are never as dramatic as in real life. I suspect Noémi wants a dingo slightly smaller than a Schleich wolf but larger than a Schleich fox even if the scale doesn't correspond correctly to the real things. So, I am afraid we don't know a figure of that size, none of these on TAI are good, Most are too small and the large S&N and WR are too big. Susanne's suggestion is probably the closest. |

| A while ago I got a Nayab canid from Karin which could be a dingo (but it could be an Ethiopian wolf or dhole eiter, we couldn't determine it properly). Here's a picture of the figurine: I can't take any comparison pictures at the moment, but by chance I made some pictures of my canids today. I'll check if you can see this figurine properly on them.. EDITOkay, I got the picture. Not very good visible, though. | So I found some time this morning to make some comparision pictures. Not very good quality, for I made the pictores with my mobile phone, but I think they're good enough for size comparison Hope this helped! |
