Actually, are you sure he's painted? He looks like an etchie! This would be the original model:

That's interesting, I'm 99% sure he's an etchie. Nothing wrong with that of course Very Happy An etchie means you scrape the paint off the original model to reveal the bare white plastic underneath. You can see how the markings are very similar, but she extended them. The tail is really the giveaway for me, you can see it's still airbrushed OF. Smile

But don't worry, he's still very nice and no less of a custom, just not repainted. Wink

Maybe the seller ment to say "repainted", as in: a different paint scheme on the same Breyer model?
Just like Schleich brings out the same horses every year, but in a different colour.
You could call those "repainted" as well.

Anyways, I think the horse looks even more wonderful after the etching.
Congratulations!

I don't know, seller claims she painted it, I do find that the brown paint is darker and matt [ not glossy]and the tail is not as shiny,
to be honest I don't care, Laughing I like him .

Maybe they put a matt varnish on the model after the etching, to save it from scratches and such?
That could explain the darker and less glossier paint.

It doesn't matter really....it's a beautiful horse! cheers
