| Well, let's go with my first walkaround. I hope you like it. This beautiful sow is figure from PAPO Farm Animals series and was released back in the 2010. I think it is very realistic and I love specially her pose, face, and those tiny litlle feet which make her look very elegant and feminine. Both sculpting and finishing are very good to my eyes, with nice muscles and bones that can be seen through the skin and a subtle but effective fur texture all over the body. Another good detail is that gloss over the snout. Only the eyes are not as well painted as they should, but they are just fine. | I am very happy of seeing here a walk around of a common farm animal. I think all figures deserve a good walk around and this sow is not an exception. I share the same opinion as you, I love how delicate are the limbs and hooves of this model. I know Papo uses to sculpt their farm figures based on French breeds, do you think it is a Porc Blanc de l'Ouest? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

Maybe, although that breed has very big droopy ears covering the eyes and the figurine only has droopy ears that not cover the eyes. So It could be also a french landrace, which is the most common breed in France: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| What a delightful walkaround It is a wonderful model, showing all the charm of a happy sow...they have an almost humoristic look on their face when happy I love pigs. They are stron, fast, intelligent, fun, clean, playful creatures, and this model shows it all Thankyou very much for the perfect pictures, - both the angles, the quality and excision of the pictures PS : Fun that a French breed is called Landrace ...that is a Danish word Perhaps they are based on Danish Landrace, which they resemble very much ? |

So It could be also a french landrace, which is the most common breed in France: [/img] I think you're right, I was first also convinced it was a landrace but I've red it is a Danish breed and haven't noticed that French also developed their own Landrace breed. Then, the body doesn't fit at all the long type of a Landrace but brands tend to make pigs even heavier than in real. Though, it seems French landrace is a better approach. - SUSANNE wrote:

Perhaps they are based on Danish Landrace, which they resemble very much ? Yes, they are, just read it! Interesting that French Landrace are based in animals that were imported from Sweden instead of Denmark. There's also a related breed called American Landrace. With all respect, it seems there are Danish pigs all over the world! |
