Safari Cassowary no 225429 from 2016 :-D

This year Safari has made no less than 4 beautyful, new birds , and also made a better paintwork on the Anhinga  

We already saw a walkaround of the lovely Roseate Spoonbill, and I am very proud to be able to try making a small walkaround of the near-perfect ( if not completely perfect?) Cassowary    

Let's start with a close-up of the face .
Look at the expression, - exactly the right haughty don't-get-near-me look  
And the beak! It is not only a grey, triangular thing like most models, -  it is perfectly sculptures and painted

Do you like big butts ?

Look how he turns his head a bit sidewards like a monster large chicken

And  - oh joy ! - th wattles are swinging with the head movement

Perfectly shining, silky feathers

The feet are magnified many times below, and look a bit "messy". When he stands on the shelf they look really hard, strong and dangerous

I can't stop looking at this model. I LOVE it

The last photo made me laugh so hard! The little UK Yowie looks so silly and all the bird have cooky eyes and the new Safari LTD one looks soooo grumpy like: Why, oh why... Am I here with these three nuts of birds *sight* *mumble mumble* XD

Yes! I was waiting for a walk around of this figure, thanks!
After a long time only seeing ostriches, finally we are seeing some diversity among ratites in standard sized figures.
The fight started in 2013 with Mojö emu, 2014 CollectA Southern cassowary, 2015 CollectA okarito kiwi and 2016 another Southern cassowary, this time from Safari. Meanwhile what did Papo? Nothing... and Schleich? ... their 5th ostrich male!
Well, there is still no Starlux in modern days, the French brand made ostrich, cassowary, kiwi, emu and even rhea!
The figure looks excellent, you pointed some very important details, the bad turkey face that goes perfectly with the reputation of these animals. The balancing wattles, the head turned, the very strong legs, the silky feathers... all very good points of that figure.
My only problem is that it is a Southern cassowary like the CollectA that I already own. Not wanting to complain, being a American company, I had some hope of seeing a rhea instead. They could also make a Northern Cassowary in alternative but the Southern is by far the most common cassowary species.
It won't be hard to find a good excuse to get it, the only problem is that now, all years, we have lots of nice figures to buy. What a delicious problem!

I wasn't sure I would buy one before I looked at your excellent walkaround. I have to select far more than in the past... But I'm addicted now, this bird is wonderful and the CollectA one needs a competitor to stay healthly.
