| Okay, question about the Arctic Fox from Safari ltd.: Don't Foxes have catlike pupils? I really like the Arctic Hare stance. Very bold. And I'm really interested to see how well the new Safarit ltd. Aligator scales next to the old Papo's Crocodile. That same counts for the Prairie Dog. Scale wise with other animal figures. Not how it looks next to Papo's Crocodile. LOL Blue Footed Booby is on the "to buy list" already. Wow. Safari ltd. sure is being inventive this year. I love it! |

| Foxes have round pupils, they turn vertical like cats when exposed to light. So they can represented in both ways. Actually, the general sculpt seems very good, only legs don't look pleasant to me but that "distortion" is common to most Safari catalogue pictures. For my wish list the result for now is Safari 5 Schleich 0: - Arctic fox, Arctic hare, Blue footed booby, Kermode bear and Red-tailed hawk. I'd love also to note the Arctic hare pose, very curious and it reminds me that nobody releases a mara what is quite unfair for me. Another interesting point is that despite Arctic hares being very popular animals and rabbits generally well accepted commercially, this animal is quite rare in toy shape among best known companies. The Schleich mountain goat is desirable but probably one of the victims for 2017 once we can't collect all we like. |

| The red tailed hawk is a must have, the kermode bear and the collared lizard are interesting. The Ivory-billed woodpecker as the best version i think i will also add. |

| Many things changed in this hobby in these last years. One of them is that European fauna was much more common than North American fauna among major brands and now it shows a difference tendency. I remember when the Wild Safari North American wildlife series was a kind of oasis among woodland designated series. I am a huge enthusiast of all these changes once diversity is my priority. South America was also very residual before and now we can find figures of that fauna easily. We are living a glorious era of toy animal collecting. |

| Are you sure that the Papo figurine really represent a artic hare? Papo is more focused on European animals, looking the ears they seem longer than the safaris one. And as Safari is focused on American animals, I´m sure, that there rabbit is representing an artic hare.
So, I think the Papo one is a snow hare and belongs to the European Map. |

So, I think the Papo one is a snow hare and belongs to the European Map. I'm not sure it is an Arctic hare or a Mountain hare. The more i look at those pics, the more I would vote for Arctic hare. Papo isn't only focused on European animals, look at the white-tailed deers family, the American black bear, the two American buffalo, the two pumas, the two grizzly bears and cubs, two bald eagles, the Alligator Snapping Turtle, the Raccoon andthe arctic wolf. I will even not talk about the ones that can be shared with the European fauna, the reindeer, the moose, the Polar bears, the Arctic fox the beaver and the wolves... Papo made 17 exclusively North American models and 23 "exclusively" European animals, a bit more but not so much. Papo is focused on selling models, like Safari Ltd. Nevertheless, if this one is a Mountain hare, the better place would be on the Asian map. |

But yeah, a lot of animals (I would also include the racoons) can be shared between american an european fauna, I didn´t think of that. I´m still not sure about the hares...when I compare the new Safari and Papo artic hares, they don´t look like the same species to me. |

About these hares, I agree they don't look like the same species but I think it has more to do with design. Papo and Safari Ltd have very different touch', look at the beavers, white-tailed deers, wolves, raccoons... Nevertheless they are the same species. So what about the Papo hare? It is not as realistic as the Safari Ltd, but it has an Arctic hare coat, completely white Mountain hares are an exception, even in winter they are not as white. Maybe I will change my mind when I will see one papo in real. |

| Although individual photos aren't available yet--the Toy Fish Factory American Angler set of fish (Largemouth bass, Striped bass, Channel catfish, Bluegill and Crappie [probably a white crappie]) will need to be a part of this thread!
