Altserie Grosse Tiere - Large Schleich Classics: 14003 Hippo and 14005 Rhino

I managed to get 2 of the large classics in and thought I would share them with y'all.  Enjoy

Thanks. There are 10 large classics and as far as I can tell they are pretty hard to find. Most of them I have never seen for sale.

Thanks. The rhino was a rare find. I had been watching it for a while and it went on sale so I bought it. There were a couple without tags that I was watching as well, but when this one went on sale it was priced less than the others. You can guess which one I bought.

I had that rhino to before, together with the lion, which i had twice, sop one went to torben in the past.
Now i have none....

I am sure you will end up with some soon enough. I still have many to go in the classics, but I am working on them.

The rare times they are on auktion I have tried to bid, but they are SO expensive, I only have 2 or 3 of them and have given up.

Thank you, Susanne. I decided about a year and a half ago to concentrate on this and a couple of other sub-lines. The ones with tags went for 50-60 euros each, approximately, but the used ones can be had more cheaply, sometimes for 15-25 euros apiece. The 14005 Rhino is by far the easiest one to acquire. From what I've seen, the 14002 Tiger, 14004 Lion and 14006 Elephant are the most difficult to come by.

Yes, and there is a gorilla also, I think.

The times I saw them, they cost far more, - I have the giraffe, the rhino, the brown bear and the lion. Last time I saw, the tiger with tag went for 95 Euros

It is a good idea to concentrate, and say : I want those ! - unless somebody else does the same, - then prices can go mad, like the dark beagele

Yes, Susanne, I still need the 14007 Gorilla, but in due time. As it is written somewhere, "...to every thing, there is a season..."

95 euros is a lot, but I'm certainly not shocked. The prices for all rare items have risen, although some, like the beagle, maybe more than others. Schleich collecting is much more popular these days, it seems... :)

Yes indeed. Did you see this sunday the beagle with "leaflet" went for 126 Euros ?

Yes, I need that basset and was monitoring that auction, but the winning bid was much, much too high. There will be more.
