Yes Andreas, the whole set was copied (with a hermit crab added as well!)

I bought that set 1998 of Gran Canaria :)

The Asian cicada, Platypleura kaempferi.

One figure, by Yujin (Insects of Japan).

This should be my last cicada (pending other species produced some day...)

The enigmatic onychophoran, Hallucigenia sparsa.

1. Kaiyodo (Dinotales)
2. Favorite Co. (Cambrian Creatures Mini Model - Burgess Shale Series)

These two figures demonstrate nicely how manufacturers will keep up with the changing science as we learn more about extinct animals. The Kaiyodo figure on the left, while detailed for the knowledge at the time, is out-of-date next to the Favorite figure to the right.

3. COG Ltd. Another out-of-date figure. [added 7/29/2017]

Looks like we are keeping the prehistoric theme going with Extinct Crabs. This is not a taxonomic unit, but rather a dumping ground for extinct Decapoda.

I. Eryon sp.
1. Nayab
2. Kaiyodo (Dinotales)

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]upload a gif

II. Portunites sp..
This is a plaster cast by Fossil Molds and Replicas. Normally I wouldn't collect something like this, but it represented a new genus for me!

III. Pulalius sp.
One figure, by Safari LTD (Ancient Fossils TOOB).

II. Terrestrial hermit crab, Coenobita cavipes.
The three figures to date are by Epoch and represent three color forms of the same figure (there may be at least one more out there!).

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]image sharing

III. Purple pincer crab, Coenobita purpureus.
1. Kitan Club - Nature Techni Colour (Nature of Japan - Ogasawara)
2. Kaiyodo (Natural Monuments of Japan)

IV. Unassigned terrestrial hermit crabs, Coenobita spp.

2. Safari LTD (Good Luck Minis)

The emperor scorpion, Pandinus imperator. Unless specifically indicated otherwise, I will assume all scorpion figures of Pandinus represent P. imperator. This species is not ignored and has been made by US, European, Asian, and Australian manufacturers...

A. Large and very large figures.

1. Giant figure by an unknown manufacturer. It is very similar to the smaller AAA model but it not marked as such; Toy Major is another possibility.

2. Safari LTD (Smithsonian Insects).

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]posted image

3. Chap Mei [added 5/30/2017]

B. Medium and smaller figures.

1. AAA
2. Bullyland
3. Toy major

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]posted image

1. Edu Science
2. Kaiyodo (Night Aqua Museum)
3. Bullyland [original]
4. Cadbury (Yowies - UK release)
5. Safari LTD (Authentics Insects)
6. Takara Tomy A.R.T.S. (Scorpions)
7. Discovery Channel (Deadly Kiss: Poisonous Animals)
