My colection

Hello everyone, this is my first message, and this is my collection. I know it's small, but I try to select only one specimen of each species (with species such as the lion, I have male and female), or in cattle  the bull and the cow (actually,  the bull and the cow that I have are of different races). Anyway, my goal is not to have a lot of animals of the same species, but to have a representative of each one of them.

On Tuesday, a new order comes home, the Schleich mountain animal set that includes the European mouflon (Ovis aries musimon), the white rocky mountain goat (Oreamnos americanus) and the ibex (Capra ibex)

Welcome on forum SouthNoah's! I enjoy your collecting concept. It is actually very similar to mine, I think the main difference is that I mix many more brands. You have already a respectable number of species! I think you may be interested in adding more species to your collection and maybe you will be able of trading with other members to get some species that Schleich, or other brands, are not releasing anymore. As you are Spanish, you can also find some Mojö Fun and Maia & Borges on Science4you shops. Maia & Borges, for instance, has released again the Schleich musk ox, you can find also through Mojö figures some species that will complement perfectly your collection. Namely the clouded leopard, Iberian lynx, emu, proboscis monkey, honey badger, Indian gaur among many others. Enjoy!

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for showing your collection! When I started here, I collected only Schleich, but after a short time on this forum, I got my eyes open to all the other beautiful brands out there, and my collection has grown considerably! (and my bank account has shrunk...) If you are collecting different species, then you'll definitely love CollectA, which has a lot of species that are unique.

Hi widukind! The truth is that I have plastic animals since I was a little one, but they are very fake and very typical for children to play with them (although I have seen here that many people have them in theirs colections). For esthetics I just want big brands. I started with Schleich (although i have 2 figures from Papo brand, that i replaced with Schleich, and i will put to trade). Perhaps I start with other brands to occupy the species that Schleich does not have, for example de white rhino.

The scale is very important, but I know that a perfect scale is not possible in all species. At least one acceptable size scale for all, I dont wanna hace a lycaon with the same size of a buffalo. Or a puma bigger than a rhino. It's horrible for me

Congratulations! I think the mountain set is very interesting. Mainly to those that never acquired the previous versions of the mountain goat and ibex. The mouflon is new in Schleich world and it looks nice. I have all these species, the aforementioned previous versions of Schleich and my European mouflon is the CollectA version. Congratulation also for opening your collection to a new brand with the Mojö white rhino. It is a great figure, I also have it. Though, as it also happens with Schleich rinos, it is a very small figure considering the species rerpresented. Among lots of suggestions, for European fauna, namely Portuguese, the CollectA fallow deer is excellent and also works nicely with your models.

Now I would like to get the musk ox, but I do not know if the figure schleich convinces me, also one fallow deer and sable antelope, indian black antelope, addax and bongo antelope.

And yes, i hate the size of the rhinos, but anyway, I imagine it is difficult for brands to represent the true scale of every creature.

The [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] fallow deer, sable and later [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] you can get them all through CollectA. They are all great and you may consider all other CollectA antelopes. I love especially the giant eland.

There's no addax yet in that size, except some homemade figures like [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] from our Spanish friend Joan. Though, I don't know if Joan still makes it and it is not a mass produced figure what means we are talking of a different price level.

You're welcome! STS is a good place to ask anything you need. Though, remember checking old topics once we have a lot of great walk arounds of figures. You can also use our Toy Animal Wiki, with lots of informations about animal figures whose link you can find on top. It is easy for me to reply to you once I collect in a very similar way, the main difference is that I don't have a favorite brand. You have also people like Susanne and some other members that provide you some useful pictures that are much more informative than a simple post. :)

Wonderful collection, and I really like your style as well. I think it's a smart move to focus on only one representation of each species since there are so many figures to choose from. I hope you'll keep finding unique animals in the future.
