"wild horses" is incorrect... A wild horse is wild because of how it lives, not because it´s "wild". It´s not like a zebra, a zebra get scared easily and run away fast, a zebra is a truly wild animal. It´s really difficult to teach and ride a zebra. But a horse, even when it´s "wild", it´s easy to ride and teach. I hope you notice the difference... So there are not "wild" horses, there are horses who live free.

SyLoBe, that is not entirely true, while the mustang or American wild horse is just a feral horse (horses which have escaped and now live wild as you mention) there is a true wild horse that has never been domesticated, the Przewalski's horse. Although some biologists think this is just a subspecies of tarpan (the original wild horse which is now extinct) many don't because these don't genetically match a domestic horse or mustang. They also will not mate with a domestic horse if given a choice, although when they do mate they produce an offspring it is fertile unlike a mule. Also, while it is true that it is very difficult to train and ride a zebra, no one has ever been able to train a Przewalski's horse even though they have been kept in captivity for more then 100 years as a zoo animal and the last wild ones were captured in 1966 because they were almost extinct. Today they have several herds in different parks and zoos and have released them back into their historical ranges where the once again wild herds are breeding and increasing in size so there is hope for the species to be truly wild again.
