Mojo 2012 collectors figure - Final poll!!!

As most of you noticed, there's no hippo in Mojo range, and nobody asked for it! But in this final contest we can find a hippopotamus!!! Where?
Hippopotamus is a greek word meaning river horse, "hippo" horse, "potamus" river!
Notice that in scientific name of the sable antelope we find Hippotragus, what means hippo=horse and tragus=goat, and we understand it because this "goat" has a horse looking!
And in the red river hog we see the name Potamochoerus, "Photamus"=river and "Choerus"=pig! So it means river pig! So ther is the hippopotamus! Sorry!

No idea!!! But I think the most part already voted and we are only in the second day of 5! In the first part 35 members voted but it was less friendly for members that are only watching or have some difficults with English Language!

Dear friends,
After a starting dominated by the sable antelope, we start Sunday with the gaur ahead! Interesting to see the preferences balancing between Asian and African fauna! And let's see from which continental region will be the selected figure! gaur for Asia or sable antelope for Africa???
...anyway are missing 3 days, any other can win!

I have a question for those who voted for the gaur, to have it in scale with the rest of the figures (Schleich wildlife figures are normally between 1:18 and 1:22) it will have to be around 7 to 9 inches (16.5 to 18 cm) long. That is a really big figure, 3 inches (7.5 cm) longer then the Schleich African elephant. With that in mind do you think MOJO will make the figure in scale or will it be smaller, around the same size as their other figures?

The reason I buy figures is to fit in with the others I have in scale, if the figure is so small that it looks out of place will everyone feel the same as they do the elephant figures? Thinking back, how many posts are there where the size of most brands elephant figures are too small? Threads on other brands "Wish Lists" almost always contain several posts on African/Asian elephant in scale with the other figures.

I ask this for several reasons, my feelings are if you want the gaur, vote for it, but if it is too small in scale will we be happy and still buy it? Will we complain about it being too small? If this happens in the future will MOJO still take our suggestions seriously? Will they decide that no matter what figure they make serious collectors will not be happy so just make the figures that sell and are popular as toys? I want our suggestions will be listened to, so if we choose the gaur and it isn't the figure we hope it is do we voice this? All things to consider when making a suggestion to any company.

Phil has a good point there, I voted for the Moon bear myself. But, the figurines we are voting for are exclusively for us collectors. So couldn't they, if the Gaur wins, make this model to scale with other animals?

Harriet, no one will make serial production exclusively for collectors and for reasonable price. We must be real and know that it will be an animal for wide market, we've only been given the honor to choose which one will it be... I don't think any company will make land non-prehistoric animal which is larger than their elephant or even close to it

You're right Robert! What am I thinking! They couldn't do this and it would be impossible for them to make a Gaur to scale too, so if the Gaur wins then it will have to be made a lot smaller.
I hadn't taken in just how big it would be if in scale

Let's say this is a size difference between Asian elephant and gaur. If we know what is the size of Mojo African elephant (I suppose it's the similar as Schleich's) and Asian elephant is a bit smaller, it comes that gaur would be the size of Papo lioness

Unless they made it in scale to the farm range which is bigger?

Yes, it could happen, but then gaur would stand head to head with elephant

Its just a suggestion, but say this was possible?
Also if the Gaur was made in scale to a farm range would the size be more or less that of a Hereford Bull?
