| Here a walkaround of the 2017 Safari Kermode bear, 100045. The Kermode is a rare subspecies of the American black bear. | Thanks for doing this walk around. I went looking for this model the other day, but didn't find it. I'm really sorry to see all of those ugly seams and the bad paint job.
My black version of this bear really doesn't share these flaws. I know Safari's paintwork is notorious, but does it also vary from model to model? |

| Normaly i prefere to buy my figures in a regular store. Also to compare paintjobs, position of the eyes, accidental damage. This model I bought online. Not that I am implying it is the shop fault. Maybe other colectors have this bear too, and can share some pictures. |

| This mould is getting old, almost 10 years of age already. Maybe it explains the low quality in terms of assembling. It may also explain why a new color was introduced. It will probably last only a few years and be retired. To contribute to my idea, is the intorduction of a new American black bear last year. It is a standing figure but the same species. There are two point that make this figure very interesting to me and I may acquire it when collectiing in full power again. They are the subspecies choice, really rare in toy shape, so rare that I think it is the only kermode bear in the huge collection of a certain famous Dutch collector of bears. The other point is that I love the sculpt, I don't have anymore the dark version but I still think it is the nicest American bear sculpt around. |

| Thank you for this walkaround. My kermode bear also has the seams, perhaps all these bears have those unfortunate seams?. As for the paint job, it could have been better, but for the most part I'm happy with my bear. I don't know if these pictures help. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Oh my hell, the nose is really ugly. Safari, come on.
I think, i will repaint nose and mouth, because i take it as a grolar bear (need it for a story).

| I love the old, The Safari Ltd Baribal is still my favorite one so I was very pleased to learn about this variation. I'am a bit disappointed by quality and paintings problems. I remember how bad painting ruined the Bobcat face but at least the old was ok. Thank you for the nice walkaround |

| Here new kermode next to the old black. Maybe the lines and seams are less visable on the black bear because paint is thicker than airbrush? | It's a pity that the bear having a careless treatment.
I bought quite a lot animal figurines from the online shop of TGF toys, US several times before. But from time to time I got the flawed paint job pieces. I sent them complaining mail with no response. I wasn't sure if it's on purpose due to that I'm an overseas buyer. However, I quit buying from them after I found better online vendors. |

| Dont blame the vendors or online shops. They just get the models as they are.

| Thankyou for the comparison, Bear How strange ! I never thought about them being the same mould - Dutch Bear wrote:

So true ! However, if it is very bad, you can ask the vendor to make the manufacturor aware of the problem. I did that once ( Schleich) , and Schleich asked me to send the model to them ( they payed the shipping), and sent me a replacement . |

| According to safari, the seams are a problem all black bear figurines, either Kermode or not, show. |
