Extremely beautyful model of an ivory-billed woodpecker from CollectA 2017 :-D

Some birds are so beautyful, that it is almost impossible to believe that they are real !  

This woodpecker is amazing ! The colours, and the big, brilliantly red , elegant "hat" is awesome.
And it is a large bird ! App 1/2 meter long, and a wing span of 2/3 meters !

Most likely this is the only place one can find the exceptional bird : In drawers in the basement of museums

Perhaps it is a little bitter-sweet to present this lovely model

Well, no.  
Let's decide that it is such a wonderful model, that we have to enjoy it    

So, after all, I am delighted to be able to make a small walkaround here

Look at the details in the feathers :

The feet are perfect, - shaped with two toes forward and two backwards, like a parrot, the woodpecker can hang on to a vertical trunk

And the trunk of the model also has places to put the toes

This bird is a male. The tuft on the head of the females was black .

Here a comparison with the woodpeckers from Bullyland 1998, which also have a trunk, - I think the sizes fit rather well

I was missing your walk arounds! It is without any doubts, a primorous figure. Every detail was made with love, talent and a lot of thought. The trunk is very detailed, the pose is perfect and even the letttering is very well placed.
We are so lucky of having your fabulous pictures to watch every detail of these super figures. Love also the comparisons, the trio with the Bullyland sounds noisy.

Again, this year, we got so wonderful models from Collecta,
but this is one of my favorites among them.
It is for sure, the most detailed 2017 Collecta model.

Thanks for the nice walkaround, Susanne.  For some reason I wasn't over-enthused by the promotional image, but your pictures have remedied that. They've really paid attention to the details and paintwork with this model. The tree with its marks is excellent- I like those little holes below and the deeper area where he's chiselling in. Do you think it fits size-wise with the Safari toob Pileated woodpecker? Based on the Lego pic I think it might be just right!

I had the pleasure to add this wonderful bird to my collection a few days ago and I agree on all fronts.
What a gem.
Even the tree trunk it is sitting on is a piece of art!

Absolutely elegant figurine from CollectA , congratulations Susanne..as Donny put it .. a masterpiece! The detail on the tree trunk is exquisite , so can only imagine the woodpecker .. love the comparison pictures with the safari Toob fig .. your pictures are as beautiful as the figure , and they show how CollectA is on a completely different level of producing miniature toys .

This Bird is so lovely. Its a shame its extinct.


I hope Safari Would tackle this species for there Wild Safari line/Wings of the World line. Mainly because i cant Collect CollectA anymore
