We're proud to present our Brumby family official images to the STS community who have been such wonderful supporters of our venture into creating the Southlands Replicas Brand. The brumbies are a collaboration with our good friend Anna Dobrowolska-Oczko (of Horse & Bird fame) and kept a closely guarded secret for around 18 months!

We've made them 1:20 scale to work nicely with other brands and are planning their release for mid-late December via MiniZoo, and early next year with some of our retail partners.

We've named the Brumby "Storm", the Mare "Spirit", but our handsome young colt needs a name too. Head over to the Southlands Facebook page page to have your say  Very Happy

I'm not a really horse fan (and also think that those "wild" horses should be in Australia, but that's for an other thread) but I think are absolutely wonderful, I even would say they have almost CollectA quality (if not better). I also think that this is a better scale for them (and secretly still hope that ther will be a smaller of the red kangaroo too Razz).

Adventuring in horses is a huge responsability and you know it. It is the animals most commonly sculpted in toy shape and it is exaustively collected. It was very clever from you, despite your talent being irrepprochable, to ask for Anna's colaboration. She surely, with all these years sculpting excellent horses for Mojö Fun, was for sure a good help to make you achieve this wonderful result! Very Happy
Brumbies, of course and they look wonderful. I may be wrong but the figure I notice more Anna's touch, is that mare. The foal is quite cute and lifelike and the stallion is just spectacular.
1:20 is a perfect scale and I doubt a lover of horse figures will loose the chance of getting this family of not very usual horses.
I think a simple and commercial name for your foal could be Rainbow or Wind. But my personal suggestion goes for Willy-Willy... a perfect son for a Spirit and a Stomr. Very Happy

They are absolutely wonderful !
Bravo Jason and Anna Applause Applause Applause

So the Stallion is "Storm", the Mare -"Spirit" ...both with "S"..,

my suggestion for the handsome colt is :  "Sunrise"  :)
It has a warm color, almost like a Fire Wink
And Sunrise is also meaning a new beginning ( new day) - new life - young horse ...full of power and joy sunny

Yay cheers - thankyou all so much for such a positive and heart warming response. I think every brand worth it's salt needs horses in the range. Of course the Brumby is the iconic Australian horse (despite it being an introduced species) and we are not aware of any other brand that has gone with this choice. Of course we were very happy to entrust the responsibility to Anna's expert hands and I think the results speak for themselves! Such unusual poses presented numerous manufacturing challenges which is why it has been so long in the process. Hopefully our patience has paid off with a lovely high quality end result that will meet the expectations of collectors.

By the way, we are loving the suggestions coming through for the name of our colt. It will be hard to decide  scratch  Shocked  confused  Very Happy
