2018 Schleich - Oviraptor

Let`s see a small walkaround of this new 2018 Schleich Prehistoric model

I`m not a dino expert..and I don`t know is it correct, but
for sure it is a nice model and the style of sculpting is something new for Schleich.

It is a fact that some Schleich are dicreasing quality, horses are the flag example and some wildlife aberrations like the new wolf pup, lion cub, etc. But what I find amazing, is that this recent inconsistency of Schleich, is also providing us some unexpectable good figures. I've spent years telling that the best assortment of the year for Schleich were their cattle of horses and this year I think their prehistoric figures are those that presented a bigger increase in quality. This interpretation of an oviraptor looks very cool to me. The figure has a lot of detail, is delicate and not chubby and show that Schleich sometimes make a little research of what science tells and it is not only worried with archetypical depictions. I tell already for a long time that dinosaurs rarely roar, they almost surely cackle or so. I also like that they are made somewhat bizarre looking, if we were not so used with a turkey what would we think of it? This one, together with the dinogorgon and psittacosaurus, make a great trio for 2018.

I like the shaggy feathers on this one, like a rhea or ostrich. It has character, without being anatomically goofy.

Wow, really nice oviraptor! Is this one sculpted by the same artist who made psittacosaurus? I love the texture and posture, I think it's a beautifully sculpted model. Too bad that the paintwork is not very detailed and colors are so dull.

Kosta, I am sure you won't min if I use some of your photos for TAI ?
Please what series are they ? "Conquering the Earth " ? The ones with the green little booklet ?

Anna and Susanne, watching the Psittacosaurus and Oviraptor, I really think, that they are from
different artists... The style is very different to me.... Or, the sculptor is so talented , that he/she can work with very different styles ... But , my guess is, that these two models are from two different sculptors ...and they are new for Schleich .

The Psittacosaurus is so different than all other Schleich models ..., so much more detailed, so dinamic and it has amazing skin details .

Psittacosaurus and tawa were sculpted by Vlad Konstantinov. If the oviraptor was sculpted by the same artist, we would know it for sure. So, likely, you are right and oviraptor is from a different sculptor. The interesting part is that I love psittacosaurus and I really don't like that tawa thing. :)

I see that somebody has already made the tables, so I just need to enter the pictures. Links etc....will have to wait a little. They are faster to make many at a time
