| I´ve just finished this drawing. It took me 3 hours I think, I´m not sure. I used colorpencils and DIN A4 paper. Hpe you like it :) (I´m sorry about the watermark) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]_________________ Visit my collection gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Visit my art gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I accept commissions! |

| I like the horse, very nice shading. Mane and tail are fabulous I think the background is too brightly coloured, but maybe in reality it looks better. For me, the horse, comparing to the bright background, looks a bit dull. My suggestion - objects which are further in the background (in this case, bushes) should be a bit blurred, to show the depth more. But these are just the details, generally it's great :) _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |

| Colors are not as bright as in this image, it was the best one I could get. I also tried to difumine a bit the trees but I failed! Maybe next time :) The problem with coloperncils is that they can´t be well difuminated, and I don´t have pastel pencils.
The word "dull" has some different meanings in Spanish, and all of them could be possible here. What did you mean? None of the meanings is good, but some are worse than others. _________________ Visit my collection gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Visit my art gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I accept commissions! |

| I'll try to explain what I meant: The background looks so bright that the horse looks almost as if it was in gray tones, like cut from black and white picture and pasted into colourful backround. _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |

| WOW I LOVE IT!!!!!!! It's fantastic Sylvia!!!!! The horse is so beautiful And the way you've drawn the spots and shading is really perfect You must have a lot of patients to draw the grassy field! All those individual blades of grass! _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

| Aah I see. Well, the horse also have some pinkish tones, specially in muzzle and flank; also the eye and hooves are colored. The mane was done with several orange, yellow, pink and grey tones. I tried to fix the colors with the computer, but I´m not good at this; and my scanner is so bad! Maybe I should look for a tutorial and fix it. Do you know of any great tutorial with Photoshop?
Harriet, thank you so much :) _________________ Visit my collection gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Visit my art gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I accept commissions! |

| Beautiful! I especially like the mapping on the spots and the mottling on the muzzle and "armpits." Shading is lovely. Did you use umber for the body shading? I admire anyone who can work in colored pencils. I think they're my least favorite medium. I've given up on them and have decided to teach myself oil pastels. |

| Thank you both! I´m glad you like it.
Mastiffcat, no, I didn´t use umber for body shading, just different shades of grey and a bit of sienna. About the mapping spots, well, the horse was in this way, so it´s not my merit ^^
I want to try dry pastels, but I can´t find the moment to start with them! _________________ Visit my collection gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Visit my art gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I accept commissions! |

yes it it your merit! Just because a horse has mapping doesn't mean most people can do it right. Some people do mapping so poorly you wish the poor horse just had GPS. |
