| Here are my models of the German brand Hausser Elastolin in composition(masse) so far. These kind of models do have this particular vintage feeling, like the even better Lineols! For me, the composition models are the top of the bill in my collection! New incoming items will be put here in time. Brown horse grazing, in a sorry state, but i bought it in a very big lot long ago, when i didn't even know what brand or material it was, and the same for the next one... | Thanks guys! My black gnu had his horns a little deformed, i really don't know how this happened, because composition is not easy to re-form in another position or shape. But there is even a better black gnu, the one from Lineol. This beautifull example is from Kikimalou's collection again. |

| Terrific stuff, Willy. Real classics there, almost like ancient Greek or Chinese pottery! Do you know which line has that incredible speared Bison? |

| Thanks man! The one you mean, is that a dead bison, killed by Indians or so? And in which size is it, and in which material? |

| Yes Amy, in my opinion too, haha. Maybe because of the stripes above his eye, and the eye looking backwards or so... |

The one you mean, is that a dead bison, killed by Indians or so? And in which size is it, and in which material? I think that's the one; it's been speared, is bleeding, and is about to succumb. Beyond that, I don't know about size or material, as I only saw one for auction on eBay.fr last year. It's a magnificent figure that captures the intensity and determination of a wounded warrior. I travel often to San Francisco, where I lived for many years, and I like to stop near the ocean at the western end of Golden Gate Park, where there is a modest long-standing herd of bison for the public to view from a distance. They clearly have a defined "pecking order" and a well-developed social hierarchy. |

I can't see where your black gnu is deformed ? It is not very different from mine. |

| I think i saw that wounded bison one time on www.figurenjournal or so, and it was together with some Indian stuff, for far as i can remember. Yes, it is nice to see those big animals roam in those wildparks. We have several groups of wisents here. Of course, they must have a picking order, as this will be neccesary in big herds, or it would be a mess i guess... My model is different in the horns Kiki. I saw it later, that the horns do look, as if they did put them on the animal later, and the form of them is different from your too. The left horn is longer then the right one, and is much more bended inside, then on your model. So i think, this was a modification from a collector or so. And i have the feeling that mine is older then yours, at least it does look older. Here are some pics. |
