Show Us Your Wild Asses--Sept. 2018

Wild asses can be any of several plain-colored or nearly plain-colored equine mammals of Asia and northeast Africa that are related to and resemble the domesticated ass. Wild ass species may refer to:

African wild ass Equus africanus
Kiang (Tibetan wild ass, khyang, or gorkhar) Equus kiang
Onager (Asiatic wild ass) Equus hemionus

There are also several subspeciaes of the three.

Those that know me, I will show you my African wild ass family. According to Wikipedia, the African wild ass or African wild donkey (Equus africanus) is a wild member of the horse family, Equidae. This species is believed to be the ancestor of the domestic donkey, which is usually placed within the same species.[4] They live in the deserts and other arid areas of the Horn of Africa, in Eritrea, Ethiopia and Somalia. It formerly had a wider range north and west into Sudan, Egypt, and Libya.  African wild asses are well suited to life in a desert or semidesert environment. About 570 individuals exist in the wild.

I have two African wild asses from CollectA and a sub-adult made by by José Miguel Aparicio Likaon. Love to see Asian wild asses...

After Shawn fabulous presentation I though... oh, my collection of wild asses is so poor! ... but after Simone's contribution, I am sure that I have some more wild asses somewhere!

Simone, I think only the one ass in the middle is truly wild

That's a wild ass with a not very wild ass although there is some effort from the creature. Who told this topic could not be interesting? Wonderful!
