| I've just got this good news from Collecta: "...Carnotaurus meaning Meat eating Bull It’s a Late Cretaceous dinosaur from 72-69 million years ago. A theropod carnivorous dinosaur and a member of the Abelisauridae family of dinosaurs, that seem to have colonised the southern continents. This one was found in Argentina in 1984. The fossil was very fine and included some skin impressions. which has enabled us to attempt to restore the actual appearance of the body in life. The skull was short and deep and the animal had a very muscular neck. The horns were probably used in mating rituals and would have been covered in keratin and longer than on the fossil. The arms are the shortest of any carnivorous dinosaur and were vestigial in life with immoveable fingers." [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Definite on my wishlist, i love Carnotaurus. With the wonderful Schleich and Safari ones, i can get a herd of them.

| Interesting Dinosaur!
First of all, I wish to fully respect the opinions of those who like this model. There are plenty of reasons to as it has unique looks and fantastic detail choices. However, in my personal opinion, it looks too much like the Disney Carnotaurus for me to ignore. This species is actually very well known from a scientific perspective. It's actually a lean, active carnivore with a fairly small head and relatively small horns. This one looks very large, heavily built, and has a big head and short neck. Plus, the large downward turned horn looks very distinctly Disney. I'm really surprised because CollectA has always been known for scientific accuracy. Again, these are just my options. If others like it, that's perfectly fine. |

| Picture angle and closeness of camera can be a little misleading on models like this, but just from this one picture alone I can tell that this Carnotaurus actually is accurate. The head and horns look spot-on to the skull to me,not so much based on any movie designs. It seems heavier because it (like the new Safari Ltd. version of this species) has more proper musculature overall than what most are used to seeing.Especially in the tail. _________________ John

| Carnotaurus is turning very popular these days and it seems collectors of dinos are quite avid of them. It is interesting to see it with very long legs and relatively small feet when compared with other renditions. I am sure CollectA did the best to make it look scientifically correct. |

| If you google "carnotaurus skeleton", or look up the Scott Hartman drawing, you can get a good idea of what I mean. This creature is supposed to be built for speed. However, these are just my personal opinions. Maybe I just like my Carnotaurs on the skinnier side. |
