CollectA 2019: WILDLIFE - African Leopard (88866)

I've just got this good news from Collecta:

"The African Leopard makes a nice addition to our Wild Life line and our previous model the Amur Leopard.  It is the most widespread leopard subspecies. Leopards are hunted illegally, and their body parts are smuggled in the wildlife trade for medicinal practices and decoration. Even though both belong to the Leopard family the difference in physical appearance and colouring is still obvious."

This leopard looks absolutely magnificent to me. It breaks completely with the chubby and lovely leopards of the past, mainly the old Schleich. I suspect someone will find it unappealing because of the small head but that is how I find correctly proportioned when we are talking about a mature and large animal. Again the pose is somewhat reminescent of the Mojö Fun leopard but this one is less geometric, thus more natural and organic. Tails up to new CollectA!

I really like that one too, it's much better than the Amur Leopard, and seems to have a lot of great details, if the paintjob on the final figures can be mantained it will be without doubt the best leopard on the market!

It is understandable that Collecta is renewing its collection with updated versions or, as in this case, with very popular species, to obtain best seller models. I would have preferred, though, any less popular feline, or any other less known leopard species ( Arabian, Indian, Indochinese...). Anyway, this figurine is really beautiful, well proportioned, and with a great paintjob...

Wonderful leopard!!!!But again would have preferred,as mentioned a different subspecies,even an African subspecies like the Barbary leopard.

Great! I still Look for time to repaint the Amur one,but this really nice figurine Approved that it's possible to have several subspecies etc. In a range of products at rhe same time.Niw an arabian or even anatolian Leopard.Will IT be in right scale comoared to the Amur Leopard?
