| This is purely modern Europe. Following the way golden jackals are spreading through the territory is something fascinating. I am sure Pyrennees will prevent them from messing with Iberian lynxes. I think it is also because wolf populations are really small or these jackals wouldn't risk. Red foxes are the most relisient of the wild dogs so I am sure they will learn how to steal pheasants from jackals. Really wonderful pictures! |

yes jackals use to hunt by couples and even by little packs so they have a gang behaviour! |

| Wonderful photos again. Pheasants were introduced in Western Europe, so definitely new Europe. Foxes still have an easy life in the UK, because there are no wolves and no jackals and Wikipedia says that 30 million! pheasants are released in the UK every year. |

| Other interesting story in this photo sequence. The pheasant was in the most dangerous place. |

| Interesting correlation with the jackals in Europe and coyotes in North America. The loss of wolves seems to be the common factor. Foxes here don't seem to have too many difficulties, so hopefully those in Europe will adapt also.
Coyotes in North America have hybridized with wolves as they have pushed east into new territory; is the same true with jackals? Or are there too few wolves remaining in western Europe for it to have been a factor? |

| In the balkanic areas, it seems there is no jackals on territoty of wolves.. In France, Jackals arrived in Alsace and Jura where there are no wolves too! :)
