| Since I got out of the hospital, I have not done much with the African diorama. For those of you who don't know, I live in the mountains, and I have a workshop on the property where I do my pen making and models, but when I don't feel well, or the weather is bad, as it has been all week, I don't get out there very often. Yesterday I took all of my Custom sculptures and went out to the shop to check out the diorama, and take some pictures. I put the animals out, I don't leave them out there, I am afraid the could be damaged as I am not the only one who uses the shop. Here are some of the photos that I wanted to share, first is my favorite animals, zebras. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Next are one of my favorite sculptures in my collection, and I have to thank Ana for making them for me, the bontebok. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Another antelope that I have always loved is the gerenuk, and again Ana's work is fantastic. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Finally here is the yellow acacia that Danny's sculptor did, and it has become on of my favorite trees, he has made several of my trees, in fact most of them, but Danny has 3 more for me that will be here in the next week or two, a small dragon tree, a different species of acacia, and a semi fallen tree for the Indian river diorama. I hope when Danny returns home he will post the photos he sent me, if not when I recieve them I will post some photos, but I am really excited to see the fallen tree the most, although the photo of the acacia he sent may make it my new favorite tree! That looks fantastic. I really love all the trees and your Zebras.
I hope to do this but on a smaller scale, room is limited. |

| They look beautiful on your diorama, the trees are really fabulous. I can't wait to see your new trees from Danny, the half fallen tree sounds amazing! By the way, did your AAA grazing zebra arrive? |

| Why do you feel bad lately? Is it something severe so that you've stayed in hospital? The diorama is lovely! If you get the time, can you make a large photo of the whole structure(along with the extension). I think it looks amazing as a panoramic view of the savannah(just like a trip with the Schleich plane). |

On the same day they did a lumbar puncture (where they put a needle into the spine and draw fluids out), and a bone marrow biopsy, where they drilled into my hip and took a sliver of bone as well as some marrow to analize and see if there were any problems, so my back is really uncomfortable. Otherwise I am doing really well. I will try to get a photo of the whole thing, but it is not easy, first the two parts are not attached to each other yet, and the size is over 12 sq feet so I have to stand back really far to get the whole thing in one shot, which makes it hard to see any detail. What I think I will do instead is take several shots starting from left and go to the right so you can see the whole thing in sections, that may be the best option. |

| Very good things here Phil. It is really better now with the new trees, so far from the first attempts with the Schleich ones. |

I agree, I am so much happier with the new plants, not only the ones that are custom made by the sculptor, but I bought some of the foliage that he uses and made my own small and medium bushes. If you look at the bontebok photo that small bush in front of the female is one I made. I also love the Selkirk Scenery products. I have just made a really nice small tree for the Indian dio, I will post pictures later. |

Sorry HK, I don't know how but I missed this post. I did get the AAA zebra, and I painted him (or her) all white, but have not put stripes on him yet, when I do I'll post some photos.
Thanks for the comments on the diorama, it has been really fun to do but I am getting impatient. I really want it done so I can work on the full sized Indian dio, I had so much fun with the mini dio that I am really looking forward to the full sized dio to get started. |

| Great photos Phil. You are doing an awesome job on it. The trees, bushes and Ana's models really bring it to life. It is going to be absolutely amazing when you are finished. Thanks for sharing it with us as you go. |
