| Congrats Susanne! What a fun series of domestic cats in actual cat poses. Lovely figures. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | As I missed this conversation, I wasn't aware of this set until find Susanne's pictures at the Toy Animal Wiki. When I was checking it, I got completely surprised and thought, had Susanne contacted Eikoh to make a series for herself? It is incredible, whilst those don't intend to be the most realistic cat figures of ever, they have surely a very special charm that fits perfectly Susanne's taste. It was like Eikoh knew how faithful is Susanne to their figures and that series was a kind of prise or tribute. To be honest, I also love the series despite the touch of cuteness on them. Poses are really great, the group is wonderful and I have two favorites, the Bombay and the absolutely fabulous Abyssinian. Curiously, the Siam is not one of the nicest for my taste but I am sure Susanne loves it with the big blue eyes. While completing Susanne's work on TAW, I listed the non breed as European shorthair as she teached me. They defintely don't look like oriental shorthair. I also tried to find what these with strange names are but I was unsuccessful. Maybe the tiger cat is just the tiger color as it happens with the calico. The pheasant is quite misterious, it was easier if it was peasant instead. Though, I translated also the word kijitora neko and the result was also pheasant cat. |

This set of cats is absolutely adorable. I don't mind for cats figurines not be much realistic because it's an animal I see in real life everyday. I love the extra cuteness and poses of these figures. A wonderful gift for cats lovers, I'm really happy you got them Susanne! I have a query though... What makes the difference between a Bombay cat and the stray black cat I got from the streets of my neighborhood? My favorite from this series is the Russian Blue. A friend of mine has some of them, he's actually a breeder, and they are lovely! One got 4 kittens a couple of months ago, I can't help but post a picture of them, 1000% cuteness in all its glory!

Thankyou, Roger & Roger And thankyou, Space Those kittens are just Sooooooooo cute The difference between a Bombay and a stray ( at least as stry farm cats look here in Denmark) is, that the Bombay is an Oriental breed. Very slim and short-haired, so even if it looks skinny and frail, it is rather heavy and strong and muscular. Also ( I read), it has a special way of walking, which should make it look like a miniature panther Croger, my friend ! You know me so well, - yes ! I adore the way that the Eiko cats are cute, but still so typical for the different breeds. Actually I am a big fan of EIKOH _________________ SUSANNE

I've found some more informations about the cats but the confusion still remains. Tiger is the word Japaneses use to tabby. One of the main tabby colors translate into pheasant tiger, I believe it corresponds to mackerel tabby in English. Tea seems to be another tabby color and Hachiware a variation of it, probably a kind of orange tabby, does it makes sense?

Well, it is known that some Eikoh figures are inspired in some famous models. They're inspired and not copies and they have a good taste. So, I keep loving the MiniaturePlanet brand. For example, the Mojös inspired Thomson's gazelle or CollectA's black-backed jackal.
