| Hi, after all these horse walkarounds, it's now time for another Schleich animal. So, I decided to perform a walkaround of the 2018 Great White Shark. The Great White Shark ( Carcharodon carcharias) is a 4,5 to 6,4 m shark, which belongs to the family of Lamnidae (Mackerel sharks). It is known to be as one of the strongest apex predators of the seas. This species has the best developed brain of all sharks. Whereas males are often quite shy, the larger females can be really playful. The model from Schleich represents a female, because it lacks the the claspers, which males need to mate. The size of the model is 18 cm in length. The colours are correct and the shape is really beautiful. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The ventral side without claspers and pectoral fins with black tips. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The dorsal side: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The head has some very nice details like the revolver dentition and very sharp eyes. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And Schleich didn't forget, that there have to be 5 gills. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Andreas is right, it is a wonderfully presented walk around. The figure seems quite decent. Is it made of the softer material Schleich is using to some sea animals? Does it float? |

| Yes, it's quite soft and very light. I think it can float. |

| This is a marvelous figure. I've seen for sale at local shops and never bought it because I'm sticking with the Safari LTD 200729 figure for this species. However maybe the Schleich one is better actually and more accurate. What do you think folks? Which of the two is the best great white in the trade? _________________ My collection:- (Details):

I would lean towards the Safari 2016 figure, but this Schleich figure might have better teeth (the Safari figure has dull 'goblin-style' teeth). But for body design, I'd have to go with Safari. brontodocus did a walkaround of the 2016 Safari figure on the ATF, if you haven't seen it yet. |
